The Google AI on my phone says the old record was 4 in a row by Edmonton. Can anyone confirm this?

The good news is that they are finding ways to not lose in regulation, but for some reason don't seem to handle the pressure of OT very well.

Yup. 

The Eastern Conference hasn't begun to stratify yet, but when it does these OTL points are going to be hugely important.
