OP is almost untradeable, the only thing he has is his draft pedigree. The Original Poster is untradeable? I don’t know. I think we could something good in return. He shows intelligence in his posts and I think that would be attractive to another fan base forum. Quote
LGR4GM Posted 9 hours ago Author Report Posted 9 hours ago The idea for trading power isn't because he is terrible or useless, it's because I think within the Sabres system we can replace him and get a different feel on that defense. I'm sure power will get better but this team needs a injection and I think we can get that by trading power. I also think that Power is more expendable than other pieces. I also don't want him traded by Adams or for a pick and a prospect. Someone mentioned Will Smith, that's along the lines I'm thinking. A good young forward and a sweetener like a 2nd. Young being being 26 or less. Ik some will roll eyes and be like omg we're just staying younger but I don't think this team is anywhere close and it's trading young for young. Or, trade him straight up for Crosby. Quote

My concern: It's so difficult to make a "hockey trade" once the season starts. Quote

LabattBlue Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Two things about trading Power… 1 - If Adams is GM, DON’T DO IT!!! 2 - After Adams is fired, don’t even consider quantity over quality. I don’t want to hear that they got 3 or 4 pieces back for Power. Look at the pieces that came back for Eichel & Reinhart? Make it a 1 for 1 deal for a playmaking top 6 center. The Sabres can add a pick or prospect if need be. Edited 4 hours ago by LabattBlue Quote

Adams has done the hockey trade - Byram for Mitts, Norris for Cozens. He has also done the top tier NHLer for a package of assets such as Eichel and JJP. He has done the NHLer for futures deals - such as dumping Montour, Reinhart and Risto, and made the futures for NHLer deals like the McLeod, Malenstyn and Greenway trades. All these moves haven’t brought the Sabres closer to the playoffs, because there is no plan at the managerial level. These trades illustrate a team spinning it’s wheels. Adams can’t be allowed to try to fix the mess he created. Before anymore mores can be done, Adams needs to be fired. Quote

Yes…IMHO it’s important that he is actually FIRED….not promoted. I want his physical presence and influence completely purged or else nothing substantive will change for the better. Quote
Weave Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago So, if Adams is Pegula’s long term choice, we do nothing from here on out? This is it? Run what ya got? Quote

Drag0nDan Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I feel like too much flux is probably not necessarily a good thing. There's a lot of pieces, signed for long periods of time, that have not gelled or succeeded for any number of reasons. If I'm firing the GM, the coach, the scouts and cleaning house, do i really trade the players who signed on to be here? To me it comes down to spending - if you can get to tell the new GM/coach combo that we are absolutely going for it - do you automatically dump players? I'd probably wait until free agency before I'd move anyone of value. We usually miss in free agency, but who knows? There's still a bunch of prospects to move that you can use for any draft day trades, and then see what you can potentially get with free agency before making any drastic moves. Tuch is still up in the air. You have 3 decently sized expiring contracts with byram, greenway, and zucker. Could also buy out norris and Samuelsson if you need space. The real barrier to anything is cash, will the team actually spend? Quote

Just kick him to the curb…gone forever. Quote
