bob_sauve28 Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM Report Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM https://www.audacy.com/wben/news/local/veteran-buffalo-broadcaster-art-wander-dies-at-98 RIP to the Tiny Tot of the Kilowatt His daughter, Kelley Clem, said Wander was discussing New York Mets baseball with her just the night before his passing. He died with a Buffalo Bills blanket on his bed, a Mets banner nearby, and Frank Sinatra’s "My Way" playing on his Alexa, which she says he affectionately called "Alaska." Wander served in the U.S. Navy, producing radio programs for the Veterans Administration hospital system. In 1956, he joined WKBW radio as a news reporter. 2 4 Quote

Porous Five Hole Posted Friday at 02:38 AM Report Posted Friday at 02:38 AM I lived in Rochester and was too young to know his story or his work, but I do know “Artie Baby Boo-Boo.” I can hear it in my head. Rest in peace. 1 Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted Friday at 03:53 AM Report Posted Friday at 03:53 AM He was the first sports talk-radio host I would listen to on WGR. I didn't listen often, and I'm not sure if he only said this once or twice, but I still hear him in my head saying "Ottawa-Ottawa-Ottawa-Ottawa" when someone brings up the Senators. 3 1 Quote
PASabreFan Posted Friday at 05:19 AM Report Posted Friday at 05:19 AM He went on at length one night about split pea soup. Art didn't take himself too seriously, a trait young sports personalities should think about adopting. It's sports. It's supposed to be fun. Oh yeah, Art once said he dated a gal from Bradford, PA. 1 Quote

PASabreFan Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago (edited) He passed... and it was intercepted. Ptooeeyyy! Enough with this garbage! Too soon? Taking me back to days when the Bills and Sabres meant so much more to me. You hung on every word, because words were a rarer commodity. Chil'ren, this was before the Internet.
