Would you rather play Baptiste as a 13th forward in Buffalo or skating top 2 line minutes in Roch?

As of right now the battle for 13 is between Moulson and DLO.  Baptiste could end up anywhere in the lineup.

Agree with this. I'd like to see Grant as the 13th forward, but realistically actually playing on the 4th line, with probably Girgensons, and one of Deslauriers or Moulson. The other of those 2 is the actual 13th forward who sits.

 

Would be cool to see Bailey make it though, pushing both Deslauriers and Moulson to the bench.

Think Nyquist, Tatar, Abdelkader, Helm, Jurco, Pulkinnen - unheralded guys who paid their dues before they got their rosters spots and were developed.properly.

Yup. Guys being forced to spend and extra year in Rochester isn't a bad thing.

Bailey, Baptiste and Carrier sent down so neither of them will be on the team.

 

EDIT: Vogl reported Baptiste has been sent down, but he's not in the release. Was practicing exclusively with Rochester today, though.

From what I saw, Carrier and Bailey failed to deliver.

Fasching dominated the boards and Baptiste produced.

 

Who else is hanging in there?

Grant? Nylander?

That's a bit of a surprise. Must be because he's not going to Rochester.

Can't see him making the team.

 

And Burgdoerfer and Guhle still in the mix for the last spot on defence.

I don't think Baptiste is here for any reason other than he's injured (see: Guhle last year). Vogl feels the same way.

I wonder if Nylander is going to get his 9 game tryout and then sent down depending on how he plays in the last couple of pre-season games.

 

I'm not surprised that Carrier, Baptiste, and Bailey were sent down. DD said the only job open was the 13th forward. Looks like Grant is the leader for that job. However this isn't necessarily bad news for these guys. Last year McCabe got sent down and after one game he was recalled and that is the last he'll see of the AHL. If we get a long-term injury in the top 6, then one of Nylander, Carrier, Baptiste, Fasching or Bailey will get the call over Grant.
