That Aud Smell
Love it Hate it. Right. It's clearly what the guy wants in a bad way - to play for Canada. So, good for him. On the bright side, this recognition will make him happy and confident when he returns to the Sabres. Wear and tear are obviously the big concerns. But perhaps Jack is ready for some more meaningful minutes this season. That is, of course, assuming Bylsma doesn't follow the lead of Team NA and shift Eichel to wing. /ducks //stands up ///ducks again quickly
Thorny
This is pretty cool news. Can't think of the last time we had a Sabre representing Canada in a best on best tournament.

I know the IIHF tourney doesn't mean best on best, but ROR acquitted himself nicely in that tourney for Canada.

Yes of course, we've had several in the WHC and in the Juniors as well. But best on best pro world tournaments I can't think of anyone recently. Be that Olympics or World Cup. Good for ROR. Unless I'm forgetting somebody, the last Canadian Sabre was Ducky in 1991 Canada Cup.

Ya I know there's been a fair few for various countries, but for Canada I think that may be the last one.

Thorny
Really? Tyler Ennis was on there not too long ago and by many accounts was the best player on the team that year... Yes, really. I already said I was speaking not of the yearly WHC, as so many of the best players aren't there. Which Olympics or World Cup did Ennis play for Canada? That Aud Smell
Why wasn't he on the team already? For some reason, this made me think of the High Expectations Asian Dad meme. Which made me chuckle.
