Eleven
Yep Canada just killed the storyline that every other country wanted. You know, the story about the plucky underdog beating Canada only to have its throat ripped out by the USA. That story. What a save on perry how is this guy not on the nhl Because he's only 21. He's in Syracuse.
Derrico
Who? Canada, not sure who tho Because he's only 21. He's in Syracuse. Did not know that, even more impressive
Jsixspd
So much for Latvia's hopes. Sigh! Girgensons' shows his Sabres affiliation - he shoots straight for the goalie's chest. Must be Stafford taught him that one. :(
Guest Sloth
At least Russia is out. Not sure if anyone thought they wouldn't make it to the semi's. The Russians flat out tanked. Showed little "want" for the gold.

Derrico
Phew. Way closer than it should be but if not for their tender this is a huge canada win. In any event it's canada USA. Bring it on!!
Brawndo
Great job Latvia. Absolutely nothing to be ashamed about.

Derrico
Great job Latvia. Absolutely nothing to be ashamed about. Certainly not the goaltender but the forwards generated maybe 4 scoring chances all game and got outshot something like 60 to 15. I think each one of them owes the goalie a beer. Jsixspd
That's insane - Latvia's goalie faced nearly 60 shots from some of the creme de la creme of the NHL, and lopsided Time of Possession for Team Canada and only gave up 2 goals. And honestly he faced as many shots as most goalies do in 2 games. The guy played his HEART out and pushed himself to the point of collapse. I had to see him take a loss for that performance. ...
Latvia hung in there, they were such the underdogs it wasn't funny. After that second goal, Canada got their heads straight and the confidence up and it was over. Latvia put everything they could into it, but against the stacked Canadians? No.
TrueBlueGED
Russia controls half the game but struggles to score goals and loses to Finland (a perennial medal contender), and it proves that Russians are a bunch of lazy, floating individuals who don't know the meaning of team. Ovechkin only had one goal in the tourney, yada yada typical Russians. Canada struggles to score and escapes by an ass hair against Latvia with Crosby being invisible on the scoresheet...anyone want to take a guess what the narrative will be? I can take a guess what it won't be.

Canada game ought to be fun to watch.
