Assquatch
Use this thread to post anything visually appealing related to our game. Goalie masks, mainstream photos that appeal to you, or even ones you personally took at a game and want to share. Check this out - a 2,110 Megapixel photo of the Vancouver crowd at game 7 of the 2011 finals. Zoom way in and find something stuck in the teeth of someone you know! PASabreFan
I've always been drawn to this image. It kind of bridges the gap between fan and player. Who didn't feel this way after Kasparaitis beat us in Game 7? Beautiful? I don't know. But to love something so much it makes you feel this way — I guess. josie
My former professor Bob Dorsey made this for RIT when he was a student. Just makes me happy. Perhaps not the most amazing feat of art but cool nonetheless. I've got a couple logos I've designed for teams... not sure they belong here. One was for a beer league team in nova scotia and has mermaid boobies.

josie
There's a book called Saving Face about the history and art of goalie masks. I picked it up last summer and highly recommend it. The evolution is pretty neat. Equipment development is always fascinating to me, and even moreso when you involve art. 1933 Exhibition game in Seattle. Iron Crotch
Was at this game last night. David Legwand scored the game tying goal with 10.8 seconds left on the clock (above). Shea Weber then won it in OT. As you can imagine, Bridgestone Arena was absolutely rocking.

Hank
I live 45 minutes from Bridgestone arena and have been to many games over the past decade, and see the Sabres a couple times a year when I visit home. Bridgestone is a much better atmosphere than buffalo.
IKnowPhysics
[cardboard torts] Saw that last night on a replay at the bar. Nearly spit my beer out. This is why I've never been one to bash hockey south of the Mason Dixon. I respect Nashville as a fanbase. It's them against the world, and they're holding their own. It's refreshing, as Atlanta, Florida fanbases, et al, never impressed me.

darksabre
Josie snapped a photo of me as she was arriving for her game last night. I got called Saturday to sub as a goalie for the Advanced league. For my first time playing goal in two years or so, and with lots of new gear, I didn't do half bad. Although I'm very sore today.
apuszczalowski
This is why I've never been one to bash hockey south of the Mason Dixon. Fans that get it, get it. Fans that don't, don't. The game stands up wherever it is played. Usually it takes some tough times and some consistently good teams to build the fan base. Its why its worked in Dallas, and in California, even Carolina. Bad ownership not willing to spend money on its team, and the team being bottom feeders for a while don't help build fan bases and why teams like the Panthers and Coyotes have struggled. It never helps a fan base to constantly hear how your ownership is struggling and your team could be moved. Why would anyone be interested in getting into being a fan of the Coyotes after the last 5+ years of the ownership struggles and hearing that the team will be moved all the time? A solid ownership group willing to spend and build a stable winning franchise will help build a fan base that will grow and support the team. The league needs teams all over the continental US having success if they ever want to move up the ranks and make money like the other leagues. dudacek
This might not be the prettiest picture, but it was was hockey at its most beautiful. Today was my grandmother's 100th birthday. She is a big Canuck fan and my cousin got this jersey made and arranged for it to be signed by all the Canucks.
