BetweenThePipes00 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 I'm no lawyer, but this seems VERY different than the Coyotes situation ... not like the league is going to have to step in ...according to this story - http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/12/dallasstars-bankruptcy-sale-idUSS1E78B16B20110912 - they have a guy willing to play $230 million, it's just that the only way they can complete the deal is through bankruptcy court because they have so many creditors ... or at least that is my layman's interpretation. Tom Hicks also owned the Texas Rangers and that club sold to a Nolan Ryan led group in August 2010. The looming Stars bankruptcy was discussed back then.
