  1. Anyone watching on Hulu/ESPN+? Video keeps cutting out every few minutes. Sucks!
  2. Apologies if previously posted as I haven’t read all 24 pages of this thread. For what it’s worth, Per the Hockey News, Cozens and BB are apparently very close. https://x.com/michael_traikos/status/1765789993513971943?s=61&t=wwVdMm-nwBS_g0bjJHDbrQ
  3. We usually don't go to tribute band shows but this one sounded unique: the Blues Beatles. The band is amazingly from Brazil and their music is just what the name suggests. They take Beatles standards and adapt them to a blues style. We saw them Friday night and were literally blown away by how good the musicians were and how much fun their music was. If you're a fan of the Blues, check this out... Yesterday
  4. According to NHL.com, He's 6'0", 170lbs and soon to be 22 years old Ryan Johnson
  5. Oh for cryin' out loud... (hope you can read it, it posted smaller than I'd hoped but it def sez 2)
  6. Great article by Matthew Fairburn for those who subscribe to the Athletic. ...“I do believe the position chooses you,” Levi said. “And when that happens, you can’t not love it. It’s just what I was meant to do. It’s what I feel like I was supposed to do. It’s just everything about the thrill of being on your own island and having a lot of pressure on me honestly. That pressure of being able to change the game keeps me up at night to be able to go through that. It’s such a fun position where it’s really you against the shooter and best man wins. It’s like, ‘Bring it on.’ That’s the thrill of competition where it’s not going in the net. It’s in my control. If I’m good enough, it’s not going in the net. That’s a fun feeling. It gets me up in the morning to want to go where you can get better.”... Devon Levi-Athletic 11/10/22
  7. "3 Body Problem" trilogy by Cixin Liu. Hard sci-fi with a lot of Chinese cultural references. I'm halfway through the 3rd book. They're all good and I have to say that each one is better than the previous, IMO.
  8. I agree. this would certainly be on my list as well as so many of the others mentioned. Did you know that Bogie's version was a remake!??! Yep, the original came out in 1931 just a year after Hammett's novel was released. I caught it on TCM a while back and thought it was pretty wild - quite a bit racier than the remake. Spade is quite the womanizer in the original. Since you loved Bogie's version like I do, you should try to catch the original.
  9. Bots made a good number of the moves on that list. Can't be sure that a stronger, more experienced GM makes the same decisions but I'd bet not. Total disaster.
  10. Big Blues Bender. Awesome line-up and get to watch the Bills' opener in LV. Really looking forward to this! http://bigbluesbender.com/
  11. Am I the only one annoyed by the constant shift in camera perspective? For me, it really disrupts the flow of watching the game.
  12. Living in SW Florida, I'm stuck with the Panthers feed tonight on DTV. So, I'm synching the 'GR feed with the video. Dunlevy is so bad, I'm seriously thinking of switching back to the FL homers.
  13. understood but I also subscribe to MSG as part of a regional sports package.
  14. Had CI every year for like ever. But you can't buy it thru Directv until 10/12. Just got off the phone with them to see if that might be the issue but it doesn't seem to be. This is really strange - can't buy CI today. Spoke with THREE different CSRs - have to wait to spend money with them. Very aggravating.
  15. Thanks DD but down here in FLA, all the hockey games are blacked out on Direct. DTV is blaming MSG. I'd sure like to know if any other Directv subscribers (living outside of NYS) to the regional sports pack are getting this game. Darn, this sucks.
  16. What DIRECTV channel? Here in FL, I'm just getting "blacked out"
  17. I have the sports pack on Direct but am showing "blacked out". Anyone else have this issue?
  18. To expand on that a bit: I was never one that felt the need to be defined by my job. It was simply what I did to earn enough money to do the things that were really important to us. A means to an end if you will. The time (and quality of that time) I spend with those closest to me is the most important thing. Also, I said "... a great work environment...". If it truly sucked, I made the best of the situation until I could move on. I'm not sure that you find the majority of people are fortunate enough to find true fulfillment in their career/work/job and also make enough money to take care of what's necessary. So there are almost always trade-offs. It's ultimately up to each individual to decide what's most important and to plan accordingly.
  19. From my perspective, it depends on your age and your future plans and your current fiscal situation. You mentioned that you've been in the workforce for 30 years. My assumption then is that you are in in your late 40's - 50. If you haven't thought about retirement plans much, now is probably the right time. Throughout my career, I was never afraid to take a chance for a higher paying opportunity. The long-term goal was always to do better financially to get closer to true independence sooner. The choices lead to some great experiences and some crappy ones. But I found that as long as I was moving "up" in compensation and responsibility, it invariably would lead to something better in the future. It must also be noted that I never needed to have a great work environment to be happy. When that did happen, it was always a plus. But I didn't let that stand in the way if a chance to do better for myself and my family came around. We've always had a strong enough network of friends and family outside of the workplace that having fun at work just was not important to me. Also, you can always find a way to make the best out of your job by focusing on what you do enjoy about it. My $.02 (and I don't know your personal situation at all) is to go for it. Having less financial stress on you and your family will make up for the extra BS that you may have to deal with at work. and if it leads to even better opportunities, you may be able to kick-back a few years earlier and that ain't a bad thing.
  20. Actually, going to a Blades game tomorrow night. Lot of fun and a small but very enthusiastic crowd. Lots of displaced NHL fans who either live here now or a visiting - all wearing sweaters for their home teams. Leads to a lot of good-natured jokes and ribbing.
  21. Seriously gang, tonight's game notwithstanding, what is up with this team's terrible home record? Is it the atmosphere at the arena? Are they too comfortable? They certainly can't be over-confident. I've been to a number of games in other arena's over the years and frankly, the atmosphere at FNC seems pretty....well...boring. I know that the argument is that better play creates better atmosphere but watching on TV, the team just doesn't seem to be very focused at home. I'd certainly appreciate some insight, especially from those living in Buffalo.
  22. Budaj cleared waivers according to Elliotte Friedman.
