Good news on injury front

From the Snooze this a.m.:

Ruff had some good news on the injury front regarding both Thomas Vanek and Tim Connolly.

"Both of them are a lot better," Ruff said. "Thomas actually went for a little bit of a skate today. Tim is back riding the [stationary] bike and doing pretty well with that. I'm optimistic we'll get them back on the ice maybe later in the week."

Ruff even held out hope one or both could play by this weekend.

"If they're ready to play, we'd like to get them some playing time," he said. "The game conditioning would be good."

Getting them back in the lineup doesn't do anything for me.

Yeah, well, to each his own. Myself, I'd like to see a point-a-night guy and a "dirty goal" scorer with skill in the lineup come playoff time.

So now Vanek is a "dirty goal" scorer? I'm not sure what's funnier, the fact that he's acutally become this type of player or the fact that fans are referring to him as this.

Tim Connolly is the sinlge most invisible point a game player in the league.

Like I said, to each his own. I'm looking forward to seeing both of these guys on the ice again.

Yeah, that does suck. With respect to my enthusiasm/optimism, I guess I just always come around to wondering what the alternative will bring.

Step 1: Pull together stats on players with point totals similar to player X.

Step 2a: If players with similar point totals aren't household names, use this as proof player X isn't any good.

Step 2b: If players with similar point totals are household names, claim you'd rather have any one of them; and use this as proof player X isn't any good.

This is ridiculous!!

The government number-crunchers in Toronto have put this list together precisely to fool the average fan, like yourself! So my Middle School Teacher once said!!!!

What these other players have in goals and assists, they surely can not match the skill and aptitude of Sir Timothy Connolly!

He will Prevail!

He will lead the great town of Buffalo to a Stanley Cup celebration the likes of which have never been seen!

So you wouldn't take Iginla, Horton, Datsyuk, Nash, Staal or Perry over Connolly?

I didn't say Connolly wasn't any good, just not a fan of his. He has the lowest goal total of any forward in the top 50 PPG. You need guys to set up goals, I just can't remember many from "the skill".

You forgot to mention that Connolly's point totals have been held back thanks to that massive ref anti-Sabre conspiracy.

You tell 'em kiddo!

All those stats mean nothing!

Sabres have 12 guys with 10 or more goals on their roster. No other team comes close to that.

And TV and TC are significantly + on the +/- side of things which means more often than NOT teams do NOT score when they are on the ice as much as they do when others are on the ice - invaluable!

GO BUFFALO SABRES!!!

Been watching the X-Files too much lately?

It never ceases to amaze me how some people rather than expending the energy to verify complicity as to concrete examples of actual deed opt instead for the herd mentality and settle for conspiracy theory!

What a waste of precious brain cells!

Quality control, without it you have mediocrity. Buffalo Sabres are aptitude and skill. It's other teams that need all the help they can get!

GO BUFFALO SABRES!!!
