  1. BUT HE SAID HE DRANK COFFEE!!!1! FREAKOUT!!!!!!!
  2. The aliens in the movie Signs also lost because of water.
  3. Even though I'm basically all-in on the idea of the Sabres getting a really high draft pick this year, I was completely psyched about Enroth getting the shutout tonight when the game was winding down. Seeing him lose the shutout and then the lead on a flukey goal where he cramped up was just brutal. This one hurts.
  4. He didn't say anything about Tallinder being traded to the Sabres. He said Tallindef was pulled pregame warmups and that that would lead to trade speculation.
  5. Look, I don't get how Grigorenko fits in here long term. It's time to get younger and rebuild.
  6. 21-0-3. I was there tonight. The team is ridiculous and the crowd is ridiculous. It's the halfway point of the season and it was a playoff atmosphere. Toews SHG to tie it up in the 3rd was a beauty. Not as nice as Hodgson's yesterday, but really nice. Oh, and Ryan O'Reilly got an assist. And it was the best assist ever!!!1! OMG ROR FTW!
  7. 14 points in 17 games is pretty good.

  9. They can adopt a new blue that's in between, BTW. It doesn't have to be the "old blue" or the current "so dark it's black" blue that Larry Quinn and the dumbasses at Reebok forced on us. I'd be happy to go to Home Depot with Ted Black to look at paint swatches for the new blue. It can be darker than royal but it shouldn't be the moronic midnight blue we're doing now.
  10. Sabres get 7 of a possible 8 points. Then lose on the road in Carolina (a first place team). "See! Ruff wasn't the problem!!! See? DO YOU SEE?????" Ruff wasn't THE problem, but he wasn't the solution either. The Sabres needed a fresh start -- and, actually, they still do. (Regier...?)
  11. I have tickets to see the Avalanche against the Blackhawks tomorrow night so I'll get to experience the resplendence of Ryan "Hockey Colossus" O'Reilly in person. Word is that just watching him play a single period of hockey makes you an inch taller and adds ten years to your life. Pretty sure he's also visiting area hospitals before the game tomorrow to heal the sick.
  12. I was about to challenge you to a duel....
  13. He's talking about Regier. Regier is the guy that needs to go.
  14. Canucks fans are not going to be pleased when they see the highlights from tonight's game.
  15. Vanek missing the open net on the backhand was the universe giving me a green light to skip the rest of the game, right?
  16. Perfect microcosm of the internet. Sabres get 7 of their last 8 possible points, but have a terrible first period. So this:
  17. Ruff either was or was not the problem based on how the latest game is going.
  18. I feel really good about Hodgson overall. I was just pointing out why we aren't all going completely bananas over his (really impressive) point totals. I'm looking forward to him being here a long time and getting even better. He's a little short (5'10") but he's 191 pounds this year according to the OHL. If he can bulk up to over 200 pounds in a couple years, his size shouldn't be a huge issue. (He's not Ennis and definitely not Gerbe.) He's almost certainly the fastest player in the organization and he was always pretty feisty. http://ontariohockeyleague.com/roster/show/id/1539 He's a super interesting player, but he's not a lock and I'm not really sure where he fits in long term. I'm guessing he gets at least one full season in the AHL before we start thinking about him in Buffalo.
  19. Time to find out if Ron Rolston's Nerd Magic can get us a fourth win in a row.
  20. Two things tempering the Hodgson excitement: 1. He's playing between our two best players so there's at least some question about how much of it is him and how much of it is Vanek/Pominville. (Yesterday was a good sign in that department though.) 2. He's still pretty lousy defensively. Every great Hodgson play can be paired with a horrible defensive play by Hodgson. That's not a total disaster since he's still young and can learn these things, but it does stick out. Can't explain the Catenacci excitement (he's still a long shot to me) and the Armia excitement is because he's the most talented guy we've drafted since Vanek (Grigorenko is probably in that discussion now though).
  21. We can evolve from the 70's uniforms though. It's seriously insane that the Sabres haven't brought back some variation of the B with the sword through it that was on every one of their uniforms from 1996 through 2010 (?). It looked good and would tie together our history.
  22. Ron Rolston's nerd magic is working.
  23. The old shade of blue is about 8-9 million times better than the current blue. The current blue is so dark that it looks black on TV, which just sucks. When we had the 40th anniversary jerseys, they looked amazing both live in and on TV. Navy blue was the big fad in sports uniforms in the 2000s (see also: Buffalo Bills) and the Sabres were one of the last teams to jump on the bandwagon. Time to undo this one the way we undid the Slug (they were introduced together). Go back to a royal blue or a slightly darker blue. Navy blue blows.
