It should be two trades. Miller for forwards and defense and a separate trade for a goaltendier (preferably a young one with a ton of potential). No idea why people are always pitching Miller trades where we get some lousy goalie that the other team didn't want in return. What's the point?

If you "loved" Vanek and actually watched these games, you see that his effort hasn't tailed off at all and that he's still having an impact on the games by going to the front of the net (which doesn't always show up in the box score as an assist when someone else scores). I'm starting to think the Sabres might have some of the worst fans in hockey. Zero energy in the arena and they go out of their way to crap on anyone with talent if they don't score every game. Unreal.

His first season after this contract expires, he'll be 34. I'm not sure how I feel about signing a 34 year old goalie (and what would that contract even be?). On the other hand, I have no idea who our no.1 would be if we trade Miller (and, no, I don't want someone else's goalie coming back in a Miller trade). No easy answer on this one. Regier should be working the phones trying to land a top goaltending prospect if we're having a fire sale in a couple weeks.
