Montreal has to be my favourite non-Sabre team. I've just always loved the sweaters, the sights and sounds of a game being played in the old Forum. The historic greats. And the deal was sealed when Pat Lafontaine giddily poured water on the Sabres TV interviewer as he was being interviewed after the Sabres won their last game in the Forum. Go, Habs!

I saw what seemed a smart Tweet: Ron Francis doesn't want a coach who has sway in personnel matters.

Listening to Tony Kahn (Khan?), the son of the Jags’ owner, a co-owner of the team, and an apparently active member of the Jags FO (along with other sports holdings), on the Pardon My Take podcast. At around the 1:08 mark (as the pod counts down in time), Kahn talks about how the end of the NFL draft is his favourite day/time of the NFL calendar because he gets on the phone, “chases” UDFA’s whom *he* values highly and who, he says, his scouts typically have “nothing on,” and he gets great “value” as a result (he crows about how he got one valuable (starting?) player for “$5,000” (signing bonus)). The more I listen and read, the more I conclude that the Pegulas are (Terry is) pretty average when it comes to meddling. Edit: Lol. I had no memory of posting the bit above. Tony Kahn is a character.

It was one of the stranger stories I've ever seen. Almost enough to make me believe that this is a Matrix-esque world and that this sort of thing is a glitch.

Reminds me a bit of the news story about the two minor league baseball players who were both named Brady Feigl, but had no relationship to one another.

Ha! But really, for those still wondering how the new franchise could allow this: The Seattle franchise didn't make that Krak House shirt -- some enterprising "26 Shirts" type of outfit did.

Interesting. I wonder how much of this is a function of the WHO's desire to see vaccinations reach more vulnerable adult populations first. All of my kids got vax'd - including the ones who are between the ages of 12 and 18. I trust the scientists who approved Pfizer for the middle school and up cohort.

I watched through the first 4 goals of last night's game. I haven't seen a playoff series where defenders were made to look like pylons, like that, since the Sabres demolished the Flyers and Hatcher was getting his doors blown off. It was astonishing.

All about the fair use, baby.

That doesn’t appear to be an official, franchise-licensed product, fwiw.

Fook Cole Beasley with 5 CD’s of his lame ass “rap” album. Sideways. Bills are teed up to make a Super Bowl run and this idiot wants to have his own facts. Loudly.

An absolutely lovely guy - a true beaut. Get well soon.

My sense was, and is, that the neck injury pre-dated that specific incident -- that getting nudged into the boards aggravated it, worsened it. I'm the one who introduced the weightlifting issue. There's no conspiracy being suggested. I am wondering - sure, speculating - as to whether being an apparent nutter for throwing weights around would have prevented, or maybe somehow contributed, to his injuries, including the herniation of a cervical disc. For ready reference, see above. p.s. This is a message board. And I'm just asking questions.

Fair. Entirely possible. I will just add: That video immediately - viscerally - struck me as odd when I first saw it. There was no over-thinking it at that point. Just something about it had me like "... huh." "Old times sake." "Still got it!" I'm not looking for nuance. Those phrases mean what they mean. Now, I will admit, those meatheads may not have meant (or even known) what those phrases mean or naturally imply. And yet.
