Youngest team in the league will always be behind the 8-ball when it comes to physicality and toughness. That said, for the most part, they've drafted and developed well. Just too many of the same type of prospects at this point. Smallish to medium sized perimeter skill. Which is fine, but at some point you need to draft to fill other roles as well. This is where a POHO would've helped, providing a strategic direction. Identifying weak spots and orchestrating a plan to address them. Instead we have Terry making those decisions 😣

hire a POHO upgrade the goaltending add veteran depth on the back end make a big bold hockey trade to add a star player... something along the lines of a Turgeon/LaFontaine deal. nobody is untouchable.

He came out to challenge the shot and Byram tipped it in behind him. Nothing he could do. He overcommitted on the first goal. Pastrnak didn't even need to fake the shot, UPL took himself out of theplay. Boston's strategy is clear. Get him to overcommit, take him out of position.

His glove sucks. He struggles to catch the puck, seems to bounce out of his glove more often than not.

They need to do some serious self scouting. Decide what type of team they want to be, project players into roles and move the others. Does anybody trust this regime to get it right? I certainly don't. I'd feel better about it if they had a trustworthy POHO with a clear vision instead of Terry pulling the strings.

1st goal UPL overcommitted and then just sat there instead of finding the net.... he had time to recover, 100% on him. Second goal was deflected in by Byram. Boston player was trying to pass. It was going wide until Byram deflected it jn, nothing UPL could've done there.

Can't remember the last time I saw that in an NHL game. Usually it takes both linesmen to miss that as they signal each other on icings.

Fun game, entertaining. Thought they were lucky to win, gave up way too many high quality chances. Reimer stood on his head. Doesn't change anything for me tho. That losing streak in November told us everything we need to know about this team. You simply cannot "run it back" based on a few weeks of meaningless games at the end of the season.

Levi is doing well in Rochester, but watching some of those games I still don't think he's going to succeed in the NHL. Makes the athletic save but gives up too many softies. Hope he proves me wrong. Leinonen? Leino? nen? Nope!
