  1. Keep Comrie, him and UPL are rarely ever healthy at the same time anyway. Ride Levi while he's hot but don't waive Comrie.
  2. Levi needs reps. With a healthy UPL and Comrie, he won't get those reps in Buffalo. Thanks Kevyn.
  3. I hope they take it slow with Quinn. Achilles recovery is no joke, there's countless tales of athletes coming back too soon because they feel great... only to re-injure themselves resulting in a career threatening issue. He has youth on his side, but I hope they keep him out of competition until Feb/Mar at the earliest... it just takes time.
  4. This looked like that road win against the Rangers a few weeks ago. They proceeded to lose the next 4 😭 Let's hope they learned something.
  5. Good period... should be the standard moving forward. That said, Boston looked disinterested.
  6. They're good enough. The coaching is not.
  7. They're trying to play a more defensively responsible game..... it backfires in the first 10-min, then they say ***** it and go back to high risk fire wagon hockey. The up tempo north/south style is entertaining, but it's not sustainable for an entire season.... it's too demanding physically to maintain over 82 games. The NHL season is a marathon, not a series of 40 yard sprints. Granata is failing miserably at integrating a defensively responsible system which doesn't suffocate their goal scorers.
  8. If they get everyone back and continue sleepwalking through the first 10min of every single ***** game... then yeah it's possible.
  9. This game feels like a crossroads for this team. Another loss and suddenly they've got a serious losing streak pending with a roadie to Boston on Thur. That said, you would think they're desperate for a win, but I've thought that before and they come out flatter than a flapjack. It's a great opportunity for the young core to step up and demand more from their teammates.... ruffle a few feathers if you will... let it be known there will be repercussions if anyone mails it in. The atmosphere in the locker room should be serious and focused, not aloof with guys joking around and talking about whatever.... the "game" starts well before puck drop.
  10. Peters and Rivet are old school meatheads. The game is much different now than when they played. Their power play coach take is laughable. Just because you never quarterbacked a power play doesn't exclude you from coaching one. They're just looking for clicks with their over the top takes. Entertaining tho haha.
  11. this He's a super nice guy with lots of experience but doesn't hold the room accountable. They need a leader who isn't afraid to call guys out.
  12. Those are details which are lacking accountability.... be that by a coach or more importantly the core group.
  13. No outside player or package of players is going to fix this team's ailments. There's already a core group in the locker room. Nothing will change until the core decides to enforce a standard of play and hold everyone accountable. That simply hasn't happened yet, and in my experience as a player, I don't think it will change until guys like KO and Zemgus are gone.
  14. I agree. Granato is a great individual developmental coach.... he's 56, that's what he is and always will be... there's a place for him in the game and he's excellent at what he does. That said, this team is lacking accountability for structured team play. Eric Johnson hinted at this earlier in the season when he mentioned that they won't accomplish much until they ALL commit to play within a certain structure. Until that standard is set and enforced this team will just continue to drift aimlessly like a rudderless ship.
  15. It's a lot easier to stomach once you come to the realization that for this franchise winning isn't as important as relationships. The guys on the team all get along really well, they're all getting paid now and Granato doesn't hold them accountable for poor performances. They're on easy street. So why would they want to change anything? It's OK to lose as long as everyone is enjoying each other's company. That mentality has trickled down the organization. The only way that changes is if somebody decides it's not OK to lose... and that starts by holding folks accountable, not just players or coaches.
  16. Well, at least it didn’t bother you.
  17. I hope they take it slow with Quinn.... so many times you hear guys come back too soon from achilles surgery only to re-injure and never be the same again. It's a tough recovery I'd even consider sitting him the entire season if I was KA.
  18. Ryan Johnson, who some thought wouldn't sign with Buffalo, has had a massive impact on defensive depth. He's completely bumped Bryson out of the picture, and they don't need to play EJ 18min/g. Things would look much different if he wasn't here. He was a guy they needed to hit on and somehow he looks much better as a pro than he did at any point in his collegiate career.
  19. Almost feels like there's more pressure on him to perform well now that he's in Rochester. The expectations are high that he'll be excellent.
