  1. Too ***** bad, shouldn't have signed a 10 year deal then. Suck it.
  2. He'll add weight and strength as he matures physically but I don't think it's as big a deal as it used to be.
  3. He loves hockey and everything that goes with it.
  4. I believe at some point during the season Kevyn and Jack had a falling out that had nothing to do with his injury.
  5. Eichel returns, having a career year centering Skinner and Peterka who surprisingly makes the team after scoring 8 goals in the preseason. Cozens scores 30g as 2C and Mitts prospers as the third line pivot. Ullmark makes the All-Star team and is runner-up for Vezina. Dahlin explodes in year 4 finishing behind only Cale Makar in points by defensemen. Granato wins the Jack Adams. Florida misses the playoffs as Knight flounders and Barkov misses the enitre season retiring from the sport due to a severe case of rickets. Boston goes winless in October and never recovers. Toronto plummets down the standings after a previously unknown COVID variant ravages the team. Scientist trace the source of the mutated virus to Auston Matthews mustache. Kucherov, Hedman and Vasilevsky spend the entire season on LTIR due to a severe cases of acne. They still finish first.
  6. Power sill surprise a lot of people here. I had the same thoughts on him... concerns about his defense, skating, quickness... until I watched him closely at the Worlds. Big guys never look quick, it's an illusion. His skating is elite, and not just for a big guy, but what stood out most was his hockey sense. His ability to escape pressure and make that first pass was special. That said, he can still get better in some areas as is the case with every prospect, but I have no doubts about his status as a future star in the league.
  7. Power isn't a Diva, lol. Where is this coming from?
  8. IMO the team was worse because of them. Their net contribution was negative. Kinda like Staal, Okposo... etc. Washed up but still hanging around to "teach the young core". Not necessary, especially when they're not helping you win.
  9. IMO the "veteran leadership" mantra is an outdated concept in todays NHL. Did Brian Gionta or Josh Gorges help? IMO if you have the right coach and players with the right character, you don't need a veteran presence.
  10. I agree it's a tank year for this franchise. The difference between this tank and the previous tank is the cupboard is not as bare as it was in 2013-15. You've got Cozens, Dahlin, Power, with guys like Quinn and Rosen.... there's definitely some pieces there, but IMO most are still 2-3 years away or more from being significant contributors. In the meantime, let the tank roll. The next 2 drafts are blockbusters.
  11. Watching his film he plays more like Quick than Price. The Canadian media will obviously compare him to Price, but IMO he's stylistically similar to Jonathan Quick. Quick is 6'1, extremely atheltic and competes his ass off. Not saying he's the next Quick, but there similarities. Quick never played Junior A (USHL, NAHL, or Major Junior). After being drafted (rnd 3) out of Prep School in 2005, Quick spent 2 years at UMass, and 1 year splitting time between the ECHL/AHL, before finally breaking into the NHL in year 4.
  12. Who in their right mind would sign w Buffalo now.
  13. As per Friedman something is brewing w Florida.... What do they even have tho?
  14. It's the right way to build a team. Draft picks take time to develop but if done correctly can result in lasting success.
