FLA makes the playoffs.
-
Chychrun is and will be better.
-
Why? He's not that good.
-
True. But it was his decision to play there.
-
.....if he performs well, JBOTs tail will wag.

Paul Hamilton Can this guy just stop with careless reporting? Even if this is true why air it to the public? They guy needs to find a new job.

It's interesting to hear that he's obsessive about improving himself, but I'm not concerned about his mental stability..... maybe if he becomes Caption tho, haha. I'm going to share some of my personal experience.... I too had a similar mental state when I played competitively... it certainly had it's benefits but looking back I feel like I alienated some teammates because I was overly focused on my own play and less about how others were handling things... especially as a returning player in my junior/senior years. Sleepless nights thinking about what I did wrong on the ice, visualizing how to improve things in my head pretty much all day long, blaming myself for losses to the nth degree. My parents taught me that anything is possible if you just worked hard enough at it, so I felt like I could always be better if I just worked more, spent more and more time on it to the point of it becoming an obsession. Shouldering the blame for a loss because I didn't work hard enough at something that might have resulted in a difference making goal or preventing a goal. Then spend days on end obsessing about how to fix it. I'm sure a lot of players are that way to a degree. When it's your job and you're at the rink every single day for seasons on end, it's pretty much all you think about all the time and it defines who you are.., it's what you do, what you're there for... your sense of self worth revolves around it entirely so you better work at it as hard as you can, or quit the game and do something else.

When you pay attention to boredom it gets unbelievably interesting. I'll play... can anybody guess who I'm NOT taking? haha -
...and ROR is hard enough on himself without shouldering the added responsibility of Captain... he might need professional mental help if he has a bad game.
-
I think you give it to the guy who you want the team to look up to.... giving the C to somebody can change the way they play, their mannerisms, how much they lead. That said, give it Eichel now and I think we'll see some positive results in his consistency, play away from the puck, interviews, etc...

why don't we just do a fantasy hockey league... it's basically the same thing -
2017-18 lineup prediction (the Original Lineup Thread)

No, but I like Baptiste and Bailey better. Both bigger stronger, can protect the puck better and create more plays with their feet. I would swap Pouliot with Kane. And Baptise with Facshing. And then Bailey with Pominville, and then Pominville with Pouliot. Yes, his compete level sucks. -
Marco Scandella/Jason Pominville traded to Sabres for Ennis/Foligno

The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. Correct! Good. He failed in the leadership department. -
Career minus player, has only played 2 seasons in the league on a 26th place team. Bad attitude got the previous coach and GM fired. I'd offer a 4 year bridge deal at $3.50/yr.
-
How do you know that? Bogo was languishing in WPG, he was bottom of their depth chart with a huge cap number and years left on his term. You honestly think GMTM asked for him in the deal? If anything, WPG wouldn't have made that deal unless they could wash their hands of Bogo. GMTM probably went along with it because he really wanted Kane, and at the time Bogo was an upgrade for the tank D corps(es). I believe Murray would pulled the trigger without Bogo included in the deal. It was WPG who insisted he be included.
-
So you think he's gonna be pissed if he doesn't get to play on Jack's wing and rack up the points in a contract year? Or does he want to sacrifice some point production to center a third line?
-
Seriously? How is that "eyerolling" wrong? WPG wanted Bogo and his outrageous contract gone. GMTM wanted Kane, so part of the deal was taking on Bogo's contract. At that time he was an upgrade to tank squad, but he wasn't Murray's target, never was. Getting back to my original point.... if some team wants Nylander, you can bet your ass they'll have to take a toxic contract off our hands along with an appropriate return.
-
This says otherwise.
-
Of course the return would need to be adequate... he wouldn't just be part of a salary dump type deal. Kind of like WPG forcing GMTM to take Bogo with Kane. I'm sure there's a team out there willing to trade a top D prospect for Nylander... if that's the case I force them to take on Moulson or Bogo's contract. They're not.
-
See all the replies above :) I'd rather JBOT not be sold on Reinhart than for him to recklessly offer him a massive deal right now.
-
His compete level is a question mark. Will he sulk after not making the big club and get off to a slow start in Roch again? I'm not saying he's a bust at 19, he could develop into a star, but if the right deal comes along (eg to unload a bad contract) I think he's the first top prospect out the door.
-
He'll be an RFA, he has 0 leverage. JBOT will offer a fair deal. Risto went through the same process.
