  1. As he should have. Unfortunately, nobody took the bait.
  2. You've referenced 7 different stats. Here's the only stat that matters. Bylsma taking over a 54 point team: Year 1: 81 points Year 2: 78 points (sans Eichel 1/3 season) Housley taking over an "underachieving" 78 point team with an improved roster and playoff bubble expectations: Year 1: 60 points End of discussion.
  3. Casey is certainly equipped with the tools to play in the NHL right away. That said, what's best for his development? Another year of college hockey.
  4. I, for one, am happy with the outcome. GMJB didn't panic and sell off underperforming assets, or picks or prospects... just to make a splash. His critique of the coaching staff was nice to hear. It's evident that he has a decent grasp of what ails this team. I have some renewed faith in his ability to right the ship. As for Kane, yeah, to the casual fan it's a disappointing return. I thought some GM would panic and give up more than market value to add him to a playoff roster. Unfortunately, through no fault of GMJBs, that didn't happen.
  5. Reading the tea leaves... Bylsma > Housley ... and the results speak for themselves.
  6. I went to a Barracuda/Roadrunners game last season in San Jose while I was there for work. Entertaining game, one player really stood out as better than everybody else.... O'Regan. Fast, skilled, making plays all over the ice, complete player. Not sure what happened to him this season, but last season he stood out as a guy who was destined for the NHL.

  8. My thoughts on this.... This is the internet. People will always be offended, people will always complain, people will always act inappropriately. If I want to ignore somebody because I don't agree with them, or for whatever reason, it's my right to do so.... and I really don't care if anybody ignores me... have at it. If mods want to ban people for whatever reason they choose, then so be it. That's life on the internet... it's not a democracy.
  9. Right.... the idea is to score more goals than the other team, not posses the puck for a longer time period. Last season playoffs for example... If you had picked the teams with the better Corsi%, you would've lost just about all of the first round matchups. Corsi can tell you if you suck, but you already know that... when comparing good teams, it's not a reliable metric.
  10. How are the power play stats comparatively?
  11. I'd do Risto, Reinhart, MIttlestadt, and a fist for Karlsson. Then flip Karlsson for Tavares. And flip Tavares for get Mittlestadt back and the first. Then flip Mittlestadt, the first and ROR for Karlsson.
  12. Eichel avg'd 0.93 points per game under Bylsma, and 0.96 under Housley. So yeah... we can all bow down to Housley for finally unleashing Jack's potential.
  13. dilly dilly!
  14. need to know his TRpm™ before we can label him a liability.
  15. Apparently the "better, more modern system" has a much lower floor as well.
  16. Two words.... Must. Win. It all boils down to this. One game. One period. One shift. The season hangs in the balance. A turning point for the organization, in what has a largely been a forgettable season. I, for one, can hardly contain myself. That said, I need to change the wiper fluid in my car, so I'll miss this one. Good luck boys!
  17. Yep. It is a crock. The problem is that it doesn't fit the narrative that the players hated Bylsma and that Housley's system and player friendly approach was somehow going to open the floodgates and unleash the true potential of this group. Reality is that they're worse in every single category... and it's not even close.
  18. The results speak for themselves.
  19. 80 points is hardly "extremely gruesome"... considering year 1 was Eichel's rookie season, and year 2 Eichel missed 1/3 of the season. What's Housley's excuse for coming in 20 points under this "bench mark". And all this talk of "unlearning Bylsma's crappy system" is absolute bunk. Give me one example where an "better" coach took over and ran the team into the ground just because they were all "brainwashed" by the previous coach.
  20. At yet they put up back to back 80 point seasons under Bylsma.
  21. The assertion was that they're finally playing the way Housley wants them to. I disagree. Sure they're playing his system better than the beginning of the year, but IMO they have a long ways to go.
