Sabres Fandom aka Groundhog Day All Over Again
Night Train replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
Sabres Fandom.. It's basically listening to the Talking Heads song " We're On The Road To Nowhere " in a continuous loop. I'm hoping it's replaced by the Tears For Fears song " Change " . -
Club Seat PSL's at the new stadium - Reality Check Several fans who were some of the first to tour the new Stadium Experience Center and asked not to be identified, along with others posting on social media, have said they were presented with prices between $15,000 to $50,000 per seat for PSLs in the club sections. Wow. Current stadium has 15 rows of Club Seats. I sat in the Kelly Club in Row 15 at around the 5-10 yard line near the tunnel side for 19 years. Those seats went for about 2K a season at the end. Family had seasons in the lower bowl since year 1 (1960) and my first game was 1965. Switched to Club seats in 1998. I retired from work in 2017 and retired my tickets right after. Did my part financially supporting the team and like watching games at home now. Partially disabled but I move around OK. Always had a partial Sabres season also, shared with other family members. About 10-12 games a year. Retired that ticket a few years back. Good luck to the fans that can afford that upfront charge. Catching up with the rest of the NFL, I guess. That's a lot of cash. BTW - Our old football seats at the Rockpile were 20 rows up on the 45 yard line and cost $5 a game. When Rich stadium opened in 1973, The went up to $7 a game. Outrageous ! Our first row Blue hockey tickets at the old Aud right near center ice were $10 for many years. Inflation ! LOL

Is there an Aggressive GM developing inside Adams?
Night Train replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
What is developing inside of him is basically indigestion and gas. New leadership at GM and HC is desired. Faith/belief in the "process" is basically gone. That means empty seats and fan apathy. -
NCAA Tourney had 2.7 Billion bet on brackets While hockey and football are my primary sports to follow, the Tourney is still the greatest playoff format ever. Saw Oakland knock off Kentucky and Dayton make this incredible 24-4 closing run in the last 7 minutes to beat Nevada, who thought they had it won. A great watch, IMO. Especially when ones hockey team is failing yet again.

Edwards was a great insurance policy. He's not someones backup. He played a lot. They can get more and probably will. Free safety starter as of today. Rapp at Strong Safety. Still have a lot more positions to work on. Looking at the current depth chart but Beane is doing OK. Draft coming and I'm betting some post June 1st FA signing when more cap space opens up ( T.White ). They'll be Vets still hanging out there. That's how they got DE Floyd last year. Signed him on June 6th.

He has roofing and scoreboard experience.

The salary cap continues to climb, yet it also continues to become more unbalanced. Heard today that 10 years ago, 1 year FA contracts made up 12% of the deals handed out during Free Agency. Now it''s 54 %. Far fewer players get the big deal. QB, WR, OL and Pass rushers get more and more. It also makes the GM's jobs far more difficult for cap balance. Have to know when to stop kicking $ down the road after reviewing the real contract terms. Diggs was mentioned and even if the Bills hypothetically traded him after June 1st, they would take a massive cap hit next season. It's far easier to cut him in a year or 2, cap wise. Crazy but I'm glad Beane isn't acting like the Broncos. That Wilson cap hit will probably keep them down for a while. That contract was so dumb.

OT - Sabres the most stressful team to cheer for
Night Train replied to steveoath's topic in The Aud Club
Once the Sabres announced a new scoreboard and roof, the stress was gone. -
FA Safety Julian Blackmon (Colts) coming for a visit. 4 INT's last year. Safety obviously a need.

Per reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills are signing All-Pro defensive back Taron Johnson to a three-year, $31 million contract extension. The move makes Johnson the highest-paid nickel DB in the NFL.

(OT) Common Sabrespace Typos and Poor Grammar That Drive You Mad
Night Train replied to shrader's topic in The Aud Club
No issues with print but one thing that I avoid when actually speaking is saying " Ya know " . People try and speak too quickly and have to say " Ya know " every few seconds while they formulate their idea. Just take a breath. Relax. Quit trying to go 100 mph. when speaking and saying " Ya know " 10O times in 5 minutes. Bad habit. -

Per NFL Network, the Bills were competing with the Jags for San Fran All-Pro Jessie Armstead to add to the DL... but the Jags gave him 51 Mil for 3 years which surprised many in the NFL. Bills obviously want more on the DL and definitely waiting out some Vets for Safety, let alone drafting more. Chris Brown stated that when FA started, there were 29 Safties out there in FA that started at some point last season, which is a crazy occurrence for 1 off-season. Still many out there hoping to get paid.

The race was basically over. Then Detroit goes on a 7 game losing streak. Brings the Sabres back into the race. Yet it also brings 3-4 other teams back into the race. That's what most forgot. It's not just us vs. the Wings. After the Saturday afternoon game in Detroit, they are on a plane to the west to play Mon. and Tues. against Seattle and Vancouver. Will Levi take that trip to play a game ? Can't ask UPL to play every game. Still small odds to make the playoffs. Just win games and hope. Otherwise, we know the results.

Samuel was McCaffrey when he played at Ohio St. His last year there he was 97 carries for 771 and 8 TD's rushing to go with 74 catches, 865 and 7 TD's receiving. Blazing speed meant get him the ball. He's played for 2 bad teams during his NFL time with poor QB play. Can line up anywhere and move the D with his speed. Think he didn't wish to sign here with Allen playing QB ? Yes they may still draft a WR somewhere..but DL and Secondary have far more needs right now. Kincaid is seen as a motion WR. Diggs, Shakir and Knox as your true TE. They just signed a backup 6-4 WR from Atlanta to go with rookie 6-4 Shorter they drafted in Round 5 last year and hid on IR. They are not lacking in WR depth.
