  1. This is an interesting sign of the times. The Amerks are holding three "Sensory-Friendly" nights for the autistic. Must be a whole lot of autistic people out there. https://www.amerks.com/schedule/sensory-friendly-nights-2022-23
  2. Sure, Chycrhun's a terrific point producer...he scores points in about 46 percent of his games (as opposed to 42 percent for Christian Ehrfoff) but two things concern me about him. First his durability. The most games he's ever played in a season in his six year career is 63. Look it up on tsn. He's had a lot of injuries. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player/jakob-chychrun?player_id=177469 Second his defense. I haven't watched Arizona over the years but there are concerns about his physicality and his actual defense. Arizona of course has been a tire fire throughout his career but I wonder how good he is at clearing the slot and consistency on D. But to me the basic problem is injuries, particularly knee injuries.
  3. Just get me Chychrun & Vejmelka along with Meier and Karlsson and I'll be happy. 🍒 Besides a handful of players, I don't care who we give up.
  4. Not a big fan of Luukonen. He's young but I don't like his rebound control and I don't like all the goals he lets in. I think we can swap out three defensemen too, (Joki, Lubyushkin and Bryson) and several forwards (Okposo, Girgs, Casey and Olof). In addition, Quinn/Peterka are not ready yet.
  5. Good to see Buffalo fill the arena. The Sabres play much better in front of their big crowds.
  6. To grace you all with my infinite hockey knowledge and wisdom..
  7. Good player but injury prone. Two concussions in three months in 2022...He missed the last 22 games in 2022 with a concussion... https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player/connor-murphy?player_id=40476
  8. The Rangers also waived Libor Hajek to make way for Mikkola, Hajek is a 6'3 lefthanded shutdown defenseman. I smell a Jost-like acquisition here.
  9. Sure you probably saw this amazing HOF ASG goal by Ovi and Crosby: But did you see this side-by-side career scoring chart by these two? Amazing.
  10. Here's a man who had no accomplishments as Mayor of Boston (I live here) and Labor Secretary, just getting elected. What is Walsh's qualifications for this job? What was the criteria of him getting selected as head of the NHLPA? Just wondering.
  11. I hear CBJ defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov might be available. He's a lefty and a shutdown defenseman, 6'3 and 27 year old vet. Salary is 4.2 million and cap hit is 2.8 million for this season. Except for lefty, I like everything here. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gavrikov+highlights From ca sports.yahoo:
  12. Gabe PERREAULT: (Son of Yanic, not related to Gilbert). Draft steal? Would love to see another Perreault in Buffalo, especially a good one.
  13. I was disturbed at the sight of Tage getting his lower back worked on during the game... Off and on, I've heard comparisions between Tage and Mario. They are both big guys who dominated on offense. Many big guys have back problems, especially those who get punished physically. So fyi I looked back at Mario's injury history. It's a cautionary tale that needs to be understood in Tage's situation. I hope the Sabres handle Thompson very carefully if that's what the situation requires. A lot can go wrong with back problems.
  14. (Unfortunately this picture is vertical and doesn't tell the whole story, but it tells enough...) When the other team has possession and passes to each other so well and you're running around in circles in your own end....
  15. I saw these things: -Aho and the Canes have the Sabres number. (14-1-0 in the last 15 games with Buffalo) -Too many layups for the Canes. More beef needed near the net. Also Buffalo should take a page out of that book. -The Canes upset the Sabres with the full court press. I saw Dahlin alone in back of the Sabres net with the puck for what seemed like a minute, while two Carolina players were bottling him up. -Samuelson seemed to be playing hurt. Concerns about Tage's back -Quinn with several chances, when he starts burying them regularly he'll be a very valuable player. -They waited out Luukonen and this was a successful strategy -Wondering if Mitts/Olofsson + for Meyers might be a thing but again, the Sabres need beef on the back end and that's the most pressing need IMO.
  16. Who designed this monstrosity, one of the Pegula daughters?
  17. There are some real sickos out there dancing on Hull's grave not even a day after he passed on.
  18. Here's what my Islanders friend said: Sounds like Ryan Smyth trade part 2. If he walks at end of the year we are screwed. Raty is a stud and will be a star in 2 years.
  19. So long Bobby. One of the all-time great shooters, colorful and "Canadian strong." He allegedly did and said some bad things, he was certainly flawed, but a hockey legend nonetheless. Plus he was born on my b-day.
  20. Looks like Jack's running wild again in Las Vegas.
  21. When I hear the name Mike Bossy, all I can think of is Ric Seiling.😒
  22. Lately he hasn't done Jack. Wonder what's wrong? Lingering injuries? Chemistry problems? Motivation? Another coach to kill? I do hope he gets back to normal soon. But a $10 million player he is not. From Vegashockeynow.com (Golden Knights Star Forwards Simply Not Producing With Stone Out 1/27).
