One other note...another "made for TV" trophy presentation. Royals win, and then wait 15-20 minutes for stage to be assembled at 2nd base for ceremony. Let them go in the locker room, get the champagne flowing, and have the trophy presentation take place in there.

Edmonton in the tougher Western Conference is clearly going to challenge for #1 overall. Their play is what scares me the most about this rebuild and all the draft picks we have. Nothing is guaranteed.

Agree, but slamming a guys head into the ice multiple times is as bad as it can get. Much like the NHL, it's all about the result(Carrier wasn't hurt), and not so much the action. Banning a journeyman goon for life should be a no brainer. Would there be any opposition to it?

My point is that the Sabres being moved was never going to happen, and it had nothing to do with Bettman doing this great favor to the fans of Buffalo.

The tank ends when we draft McDavid or Eichel, therefore, it was 1/2 over when I started this thread. How long it takes to become competitive is not part of the tank.

Well, I would think that they will have hit rock bottom by years end. As to when they become competitive, depends on the job TM, along with the coach(it won't be Nolan) do.
