  1. Then please explain how you go about getting the "perfect" song?
  2. If I worked for the Sabres and was charged with finding a "fan participation" song(for lack of a better term)... - I would put together a focus group of 25 or so people. - Focus group criteria... STH, age 20-40, when at games you are willing to sing as loud as possible even if you are the only one in the entire arena singing - Song would have to be something that even Chet & Muffy would hop on the bandwagon about, because in the end, the more people singing, the better it will be - Find creative music talents to take 2 or 3 songs, polish them up, and then go back to focus group, in order to assist with making final choice
  3. 1 Enroth shutouts . 3.5 over/under 2. Matt Moulson goals - 24.5 over/under 3. Sabres Total Points - 68.5 over/under 4. Sabres total goals scored 195.5 over/under 5. Stewart Fighting Majors 4.5 over/under 6. Team Face-off Percentage 47.5 % over/under 7. Josh Gorges - Penalty Minutes - 34.5 min. over/under 8. Cody Hodgson total points - 51.5 over/under
  4. Well... - I was going to draft goalies late, and all but concede wins and hope for the best with save % and GAA, but I didn't think I'd end up with what I did...in a bad way - Since most of my forwards aren't of the physical nature, I don't think I will win the hits category often...or PIM. I think those may put me behind the 8 ball in a big way. Some sharp drafting out there...kudos to my fellow owners.
  5. Guy organizing the leagues gets the #1 pick. Inquiring minds want to know? :P
  6. Detroit... Starting 3 of Verlander, Scherzer & Price, out they go in 3. Anaheim... Star studded lineup, out they go in 3. Nationals...Very good starting pitching and a solid lineup, they may also go out in 3. Cardinals and Dodgers...Your aces both get shelled in game #1, can't wait to see how this series plays out. I have found a renewed interest in baseball, after many years of disgust over the big spenders dominating for years on end.
  7. #1 Who cares who the captain is? #2 For a young team, why wouldn't the coach pick a vet? #3 Maybe Willie Mitchell is a great leader on and off the ice?
  8. While Grigs was much better than the past two training camps, I'd hardly call him one of the best players on the team through camp. People get caught up with his very nice goal, and highlight shootout goal, but I'd like to see him put up dominating scoring numbers in the AHL, before I bring him back up. He can hustle all he wants, he can improve his skating, he can put on weight... ...but until he shows he can score, he is useless to the Sabres. Be a .75 point per game player through the end of the year as an Amerk, and we'll see you in blue & gold come January. Same goes for Armia.
  9. I don't like the line of Hodgson-Reihnhart-Gionta at all. Not enough size or grit on the wings. I like having Gionta with him from an experience perspective, put get Moulson, Stafford, Stewart...or even Foligno on the other wing.
  10. I agree with you. Just stating my observations when I'm at the FNC.
  11. I think it is a great idea. Get buy in from the 20-30 crowd who love to yell and scream once they get a couple beers in them, and it will take off. That being said, Chet & Muffy will not be happy with this idea. This will disrupt Muffy who loves to bring a book to the game, and Chet who is busy discussing what the Dow did earlier in the day.
  12. People can go ahead and hope for great things. I still want to pick in the top 2, and if the Sabres end up fighting for a playoff spot, come up short, and end up picking somewhere between 8-14, I am going to be PISSED. I still think the Sabres need some DYNAMIC offensive players in the system, and right now, I don't see much in the cupboard between Rochester, college, Europe, and the junior ranks.
  13. Any restaurant that serves generic crap cola(anything other than Pepsi or Coke), can go f*** themselves. The meal could be great, and you will never see me again. Seriously, how much are you saving by doing this, when you are already making a killing by charging anywhere from $2-$3 for a glass of pop that is costing them pennies.
  14. Sabretooth73 come back for old times sake. I know you were lovin' last nights game! :)
  15. In honor of the poster(I don't even remember his name) who couldn't bear the thought of any Pittsburgh sports team having any success, I'd just like to say GO GIANTS. That poster had some EPIC rants. LOL. F*** ######$$burgh!
  16. If you get the Big Ten Network, plenty of opportunities this year to see Compher and Fasching(see attachment)... Also several chances to see Notre Dame in action(prospects Cal Peterson and Connor Hurley)... http://www.und.com/s...ckey-sched.html
  17. Ooops. I forgot about Pysyk. Helps somewhat, but still a very pedestrian group.
  18. My roster thoughts a week before the season starts.... - Reinhart has shown very little against his peers in the rookie camp and the Traverse City Tournament, and against the big boys in training camp. That being said, I think he gets his 9 games, hopefully with top 6 players including PP time. If he shows little, I am torn between playing him sheltered minutes the rest of the season as a Sabre or sending him back to the WHL. - Grigs has shown improvement, but while Reinhart is getting his 9 game tryout, I'd love to see Grigs go to the AHL, tear it up, and either get called up if Reihnhart gets sent back or as the first injury callup. - Stewart has been impressive in the preseason, but we've all seen inconsistent players in the past become really good in contract years. Be careful TM, be very very careful. - I like Larsson a lot as a 3rd line player. Too bad about the concussion symptoms. I think he was going to make the team. - Hodgson, Ennis, Stafford, Stewart, Gionta, Moulson, Girgensons in the top 9. That leaves two spots, plus 3 more on the 4th line. I don't have any idea how this plays out. - This may be Foligno's last chance to show he belongs as anything more than a 4th line grinder. - I still think goaltending could be a train wreck this year. - Risto stays, Zadorov back to juniors and McCabe starts the year in Rochester. That leaves your top 7 as Risto, Gorges, Myers, Weber, Ruhwedel, Meszaros & Benoit. This group could be a surprise, or could be below average. Things I would love to see this season... - Girgensons takes a big step up offensively. - Armia and Grigorenko both show they can DOMINATE at the AHL level. - Reinhart is a pleasant surprise, stays with the big club and puts up 30-35 points. - Myers reverse his career downward spiral, and looks like a top 4 blueliner once again. - Hodgson transition to wing proves to be a good move. - TANK...I won't be cheering for the Sabres to lose, but won't be disappointed if they do so.
  19. I didn't see the entire game, but from what I did see, I would agree? Still not sure that Rochester isn't the place for him to start the season.
  20. I can understand giving some of the kids a chance to play in a preseason game as a reward for performing hard in training camp, but why would you ever dress guys who are career AHL'ers. i.e. Bagnall, Ellis, Strachan, etc.... What's the point? Ellis doesn't belong anywhere near the NHL ever again, so why would he be in a preseason game lineup instead of Rinehart?
  21. Have the Sabres announced any training camp cuts? When does Amerks camp start?
