I have no stats to back this up. I’m just wondering if our coaching staff is more conservative with on-game lineup decisions on the road (first change) than at home? And at home they’re being more aggressive for offense first and it is backfiring? Like I said, I have no data. I wouldn’t know where to start. But it’s one of the only on-ice differences and it would be interesting to know how things vary between in-game line starts Home v Away.

My baby mama had a C-Section. So shortly after they lifted the bambino out, I got to share the sex (boy!) to my wife (we didn’t find out prior). After the immediate baby checkups, they wheeled my wife away for post-op. Soon after, they handed me my boy. And it was just me and him quiet and alone at 4am. Open eyes. Just him and me. Whether immediate or not, you’re going to have that too. Take that time to pace around and make some promises to your child. I promised that hour old little hooligan he can stay up an extra 15 minutes anytime a Sabres game is on. I’m not kidding. And also some more important stuff. Whatever promises you make at that moment, you’ll keep. Go big. Also, no one told me about the black tar 💩every newborn takes. They save that for the dads to deal with. GOOD LUCK!

What are things about the current team you were WRONG about?

Indirectly Sabres related. I thought Jack Campbell was the answer to our crease this past off-season. His save percentage for the Oilers is .887. Oops. I thought Pilut coming off his KHL experience was going to be a good third pairing D. He was not. -
Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?

Not without winning the lottery. https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds -
No worries, it just says what I said in my previous post but with those pawn shop dudes offering “the best I can do is a wildcard” for Vegas’s 72 points.

Wow alright. The Eastern Conference is a bloodbath. The Knights point total (first in the Western Conference) placed in the East would earn them a wild card.

Yes, and it’s such an astronomical number. Is this 4D chess or insanely bad luck? They had to use 750k of Stone’s 9.5MM on a backup goalie. Like another poster said, I can see Patrick Kane going there as a rental. They’ve got to try something. Vegas has zero twenty goal scorers (the Sabres have five!)

Vegas LTIR pool now eclipses $23.5MM with Stone’s 9.5MM.

Jakob Chychrun scratched for trade related reasons

Why? He’s being paid. He’s a healthy scratch. -
Where does UPL rank in this?

I meant the Norris. But Jameson got me.

I could have just liked this, but it’s so gold that I had to quote because it’s so perfect. Thanks!

That’s cool, but just tell me why. Dahlin leads his team in ice time, he’s second overall in points by a D, plays with an edge, is a plus 16 (to EK’s -3), and is ascending. Why not dream this big for him?
-
I hope Dahlin gets serious Selke consideration. EK is going to have more points, and I am biased, but Dahlin has had more of an impact on his team’s season than EK. He’s produced points, played with an edge unlike EK, and is ascending. He deserves defensive player of the year accolades.

Two guys with nine points each all year.

To my eyes, there have been zero relevant trades in the regular season. Maybe one in Bear…you can talk me into that. Maybe. Megna has played once since the trade (Seattle has played six games). He’s a 30 year old part time player. This is Del Zotto’s third consecutive season in the AHL. Bear has played better than I expected, but has only dressed for 37 of 56 games. In hindsight, this could have worked…but he isn’t the style of player people are looking for. He would really only play over Bryson or Clague in this lineup on the third pair. Timmons has dressed for 21 games all season (was traded in Nov). One game since Jan28th. There is really nothing Adams could have done to improve the defense since opening night. I’m not jealous of any of the above -

Patience to the young grasshopper. He started slow in the AHL last year, and ended up being one of the best playoff forwards. He just needs to fill out and he will be Krebs on figurative steroids. -

They did mention it on the pregame that Skinner has a point as a Sabre in every game played against the Sharks.
