  1. This is me. His career save percentage in Rochester is sub .900. He was never good here in ROC. Looking at his numbers in Buffalo, they’re tanking: 3.43, .896. To me, he’s been “good” once out of his last five starts (Minn), and I’m not even sure that counts because he didn’t stop a single shootout attempt. I’m ready to give Comrie an extended look.
  2. Imagine someone would rather ride the bus in the AHL instead of playing for your franchise…
  3. “Tillman enlisted expecting to join the fight against Al Qaeda and the effort to bring Osama bin Laden to justice. Instead, he was sent to Iraq. All available evidence indicates that Tillman loathed the Iraq War.” https://theintercept.com/2017/09/28/pat-tillman-nfl-protest-death-army-disgrace/ The story references two books written about Pat after he died (one was written by his mom). The quoted seems pretty clear.
  4. I am not one to debate for the sake of it and I don’t mean to single you out, but does everyone know this for sure? The teams almost scored 76 points and the combined completion percentage of QB’s was 74%. How much defensive holding was really happening all night that was being ignored? Also, the offending player admitted to the penalty after the game. It wasn't egregious, but it was a penalty.
  5. I was impressed with how composed Hurts was all night. It makes that fumble even more puzzling.
  6. Seems like this is going to be unpopular: If it’s a penalty in the regular season, it’s a penalty in the Super Bowl. If it’s a penalty in the first quarter, it’s a penalty in the fourth quarter. I thought it was a marginal call, but the refs didn’t invent the incident. Everyone likes the refs swallowing their whistles now?
  7. No goal horn was an adjustment for me.
  8. The season is not over. The Flames are in a playoff spot with this win. It’s not like the Sabres lost to Anaheim here.
  9. Tell me how it ends if the heavyweight doesn’t throttle the lightweight with an unexpected punch…never mind, I’ll do it. The skinny scumbag gets escorted out. The heavyweight was not in any physical danger. Keep your ***** hands to yourself.
  10. The fact that Lyubushkin finished his check made me think, “cool he is back to 100% healthy.” It was so nice to see. He hasn’t played with much or any physicality and it was well known he was playing hurt. And he broke himself again.
  11. So there’s no obligation, or at least an attempt, to de-escalate? We just start swinging because we feel like the words he used, “deserved it?” Neither of these people are well-adjusted adults. Like, grow up.
  12. The exact same thing. But I don’t remember who the individual was. I don’t think I was quite a teenager the last time I remember it in ROC.
  13. And Pincy spelling Amerks for each section around the arena during playoff games after whistles. And the Pee Wee Herman tequila dance on top of the rail of a section. Amerks games used to be so fun.
  14. Anybody notice the injury report since the all star break? -It was mentioned in a post on the main page that Hughes from NJ is week to week. -The Kraken placed leading scorer Andre Burakovsky on injured reserve today. -Cale Makar will miss at least the next two games for the Aves. -Calgary, our next opponent, are being “cautious” with Rasmus Andersson who is day-to-day after his scooter hit by vehicle in Detroit. Injuries happen. I really think GMKA needs to acquire a vet depth both up front and on the blue line. It doesn’t have to be a big splash like Pat Kane or Jacob Chychrun, but this team is pretty vulnerable if someone goes down.
  15. I say you wear that thing proudly and don’t change a thing.
  16. Those two words helped a lot, thanks 🍻
  17. The Canes are averaging 18,493 in home attendance so far this season. That’s pretty good. I think the area has noticed that they’re good. https://www.hockeydb.com/nhl-attendance/att_graph_season.php?lid=NHL1927&sid=2023
  18. For the road team, sure. But the Sabres nailed RJ night and Miller night.
  19. He signed a two year deal in July. So we’ve got him for this season and next season.
  20. Nah, Cassidy called him out during a press conference for not performing to expectation. He burned all his B’s jerseys that day.
  21. I guess I’m in the minority, but I have room for Kane on the second line with Cozens and Quinn. Kane also might be a huge boost to PP2. Preface the rest with saying this is so unlikely to happen for all of the reasons mentioned. But I don’t hate it if the cost was very low. Everybody shuffles down one spot in the lineup. VO & Peterka might be a great wing combo. I’m not NOT making a trade because a third line is playing alright together. I also worry about an injury to our top six. Kane would be the depth/insurance that I’m looking for. I’m listening to anyone who has a top six UFA rental that will help get this team to the playoffs. Where I lose interest is the cost to acquire. Anything other than a mid round pick & a B-level prospect or I pass. And the Hawks aren’t embarrassing a HOFer for a junk return like that.
  22. ROR had his warts, but he was a legitimate first or second line center in his prime. i don’t know how to adjust ROR’s stats in his dead puck era to compare, but I bet they would be close (ROR went 17-38 = 55 pts in year three). In his first year in Buffalo (year four of his career), he went 21-39 for 60 pts. That probably translates to at least 80 today, but I’m totally throwing darts. It is certainly possible that Cozens has a higher ceiling.
  23. These all star uniforms are terrific (Rousek)
  24. I’ve seen that movie and it was 🔥
