  1. We have not been good in the month of November for a long time now it seems. Let's hope that playing Montreal, Detroit, and Seattle help get us back in the win column.
  2. Thanks but I never left. I have a new job and starting working some longer hours. Still trying to catch up as much as I can.
  3. But a 5-6 defenceman is still playing regular minutes in the NHL. Where will he be next season with Dahlin and Power and Bryson? Most likely a 5-6 spot. Someone maybe will move to the right side? I'm a big believer in developing the guys in Rochester for as long as we can this season but with Samuelsson I think he should start his NHL experience soon. Maybe they plan to see where everyone is at the trade deadline and then bring guys up. Injuries happen too. Patience.
  4. I stated in the off season that I wanted Samuelsson playing for the Sabres this year. I think that he's ready and it would be great to have him prove himself this season. I'm not ready to put him on the top pair though. He needs to earn his time and make the most of his time when he gets it. It's a great year for him to play prior to Power making the team next season (or at the end of the year). It will be difficult to manage too many rookies next season but we'll see.
  5. As I recall a lot of the fans had given up on Andreychuk to score in the playoffs. Of course he turned that around once he left town. You didn't state this in your post but I'm sure it's part of your point in that the biggest issue was when we traded for Fuhr (Muckler favorite) we had an unproven, unconventional goalie named Hasek sitting on the bench waiting for a chance. We didn't need to make the trade at all.
  6. There's been some good interviews on the show and interesting content. I enjoy listening to them but I liked the Instigators show too. I'm happy that they are still very pro-Sabres when they talk about the team even though not sponsored any more. Roenick interviews have been good too. The podcast is easy to fast forward if they get on a tangent you don't want to listen to. No downside for me.
  7. I'd rather have it in the 3rd as the game winner but okay............
  8. Coach Krueger would be happy with this. He was always say the guys need to "play connected".
  9. Hate losing this way. I expected the team to play them well after the days off. Would have been nice to have Tokarski in this one.
  10. Okay that's good to hear that it's not just bad goaltending from UPL. Sounds like they need to come together as a team. From my perspective Peterka, Quinn, and Samuelsson were sent down to improve their overall game to be ready for the NHL. We see the scoring for Peterka and Quinn (at least on the highlights) but hopefully they will improve their overall games. What are the thoughts on the coaching staff? There seems to be lots of talent to work with.
  11. I predict the Sabres will win tonight. 5-4. Granato will have them ready after the Calgary performance. He's had the time to prepare the guys for this game. We surprised the Oilers when we played them and won (again there was lots of prep time ahead of that game too). Let's see how the game plays out.
  12. Yes but this is not rain, it's more like those frozen ice pellets that sting hard when it hits your face.
  13. The discussion points on the potential trade deadline sell off of the pending UFA's is interesting. I don't see the Sabres making the playoffs but even if they do Adams can't deviate from the rebuild plan. We won't be selling off prospects or picks this season to acquire any players. Selling off the UFA's? I think that it's reasonable even if they are in the hunt but I understand the thoughts that this might hurt the "new winning culture" that they are trying to build now. I also wonder if Adams had promised any of the JAG's that he would try to move them at the deadline as part of signing with the young Sabres. I guess one other point that I have is that I really want to see some of the Rochester guys play for the Sabres after the deadline. I want to know if they are good enough this season to play well in the NHL so that we can give them a roster spot going into next season. If they look shaky or not quite ready defensively then we will need to sign more JAG's in the offseason to ensure the young guys are earning a spot and not being given a spot.
  14. I'm just happy to get updates on the injuries and believe that they still have a pulse and are alive and kicking. The injury report updates remind me of the movie "Weekend at Bernie's". I agree with most of the posts here that the Sabres need to do a better job with predicting the length of injuries. I'm positive that Granato said in an interview that Mittelstadt would be ready to go after the road trip (but we're still waiting).
  15. Skinner was the hardest player for me to put on a line (on paper) in the off season which is bad considering his long expensive contract. I did not think that he played well with Mittelstadt last season and wondered if he might match up with Cozens. He didn't play well with Cozens in my opinion. He did look better with Mittelstadt in the limited time together early. But I agree that he might be a long term fit with Tage at center. Definitely not a lock yet and I agree that Olofsson and Mittelstadt coming back will be interesting to see how the forward lines come back together. I think the real chemistry with Olofsson though was with Asplund. Last point, Skinner was playing against Toronto and the border was open. I wonder if he had some family in the stands last night that helped him have a great game. Sounds odd maybe but Cozens had something like 9 or 10 members of his family in town and Bryson has his parents in town this weekend. Regardless, I hope that all 4 keep playing well Skinner, Tage, Cozens, Bryson.
  16. Considering Dell's play tonight maybe he should take the next back to back game when Tokarski needs a rest.
  17. When will Anderson be back? Tokarski has done his job. We need him back.
  18. Skinner likes playing the Leafs I think. He was due.............overdue.
  19. I imagine Detroit misses the Ontario fans too. Used to be able to pick up a shuttle from Windsor to the RedWing games.
  20. Taylor Hall is used to playing on a team that is headed to the lottery by this time of year so he needs to step up his game to bring the Bruins down.
