The big problem is why wasn’t Jarmo just named GM. Why wasn’t DeBoer hired in the offseason. They always wait until too late to make any changes. if they do make a move and bring in a DeBoer in like December another year has been wasted.

I think it means there is already a plan in place where Adams is slid into some other role, Ruff moved upstairs, Jarmo becomes GM and someone like DeBoer is brought in. Interesting thing is Deboer’s coaching partner everywhere he has been, Steve Spott, is an assistant at Boston this year. They have coached together all the way back to the Derek Roy Kitchener Rangers days.

Doan’s net front and Benson’s playmaking are big differences to the PP.

Early season Benson is reminding me of Prime Leafs Gilmour. Making plays all over the ice to help the team and elite playmaking skill. He’s going to be a special player.

I’ve watched Kesselring play for a couple years now. He is a good Dman and more of what the Sabres need. Watching Doan in preseason and regular season he plays very much like Benson with more size.

Hopefully Ellis gets some playing time soon. Lyon has been solid which is a big step up from a lot of the goaltending the team has received the last number of years. Let’s see what Ellis has to offer before UPL comes back and they have to make a decision.

Rather have Kesselring and Doan. Physical, character guys with good skill. Helps change a toxic culture. JJ has skill but wasn’t a culture guy.
