The Sabres just hate hires with actual qualifications. I mean they are so incompetent at this point there are no words.

So instead of firing assistant coaches they are giving them more of a role in hockey ops.😳🤪 And the only good thing with the organization is the Amerks. And the guy who built them is leaving. My god what a clusterf🤬🤬k of an organization.

They could have Ken Holland tomorrow to run the hockey dept if Terry swallowed some pride and opened the wallet. He wants back in and is being looked at for the Isles position. This comes down to Terry not trusting hockey people and being cheap with the Sabres. How has not one assistant coach been turfed yet?

They said both Byram and Quinn are on the market and Byram has packed up and left. Unfortunately it will be dipsh🤬t trading them so they won’t be serious moves to build the team into a playoff team.

Do we know what season’s tickets sales look like? I can’t believe they are impressive at all and I’m sure if Adams is back as GM those sales won’t improve at all.

I mean did Oates only get assists because of Hull or did he help him get those goal totals?? I like Martin and Bear and exactly what they bring. O’Brien brings something totally different but also needed. I think Martin is gone by 9 but Bear will be there.

Imagine last offseason saying it is playoffs or bust this year and there are no more excuses. Then assembling a team that is last in the conference for most of the season and missing the playoffs for the 5th straight year under your leadership. Yeah a big playmaking centre with hockey sense is a desperate need in my mind. The “Anti Cozens” The Sabres have this fascination with shoot first centres “Thompson, Cozens, Kulich, Norris” I have hope for Östlund as a playmaker but another would be nice. Helenuis is kind of a mix to me of shooter-distributor. Team has a ton of shooters up front but are in need of a true playmaker in the top 6.

There is the new mantra for next season: “Team Strength”. Team didn’t make the playoffs because players weren’t strong enough. Run it back with each player a little stronger and we are looking at a Cup.😝😁

1) Terry feels “heard” because he is a grovelling yes man. 2) Money: he still has a contract for this season. He stands up in front of the media and takes the bullets, lying about no financial constraints and Terry’s commitment to spend. He never should have been hired and he shouldn’t still be employed but that is where we are right now. When you have owned a team for 14 years and missed the playoffs every single season you think you would want to improve but all signs point to Nope.

Yeah but his skill set is something Buffalo needs just as bad. If McQueen is healthy then sure take him but after Lidstrom last year there will be a ton of scrutiny on him. I think Martin doesn’t get past Boston at 7. Sweeney was at the Under 18s and Button said he was very impressed with Martin. He screams Bruin.

I think I’d take O’Brien over McQueen. His injury is such a red flag. The combine will be huge for him. Bear’s injury is concerning as well but he will bounce back after a year or so.

Jay McKee coaches O’Brien as well. I’m sure he and Ruff would touch base.

I’d love Martin or Bear too for their style of play which the Sabres also desperately need.

The fact Adams says he grew up watching the Sabres and no one understands the market better then him yet he builds a team that doesn’t resemble anything the Buffalo market relates to: hard work, grit, toughness. Hes totally clueless

Adams has not shown in 5 years that he can build a playoff team. If he is still the GM or has a voice in decisions then nothing is going to change

I didn’t watch it. Did they show Adams? Good on the Sabres dropping 2 spots. They don’t deserve any reward for how horribly they have run the franchise.

He is a +/- monster on all his teams. I just think the overall package he brings is something the Sabres could really use. Add him to Benson and Helenuis and start to change the culture that has been brutal for 15 years.

You’re absolutely right but you have to start somewhere and he would be a good add to start to build towards that type of culture. Martin isn’t a superstar talent. If he turns into a Peca that would be big. From the talent in the Sabres pipeline I think he would be a good fit as someone that drags his fellow players into the fight.
