I think everything lays on Lyon’s shoulders. UPL can’t stay healthy and is dicey when he is, Georgiev inspires no confidence and Levi is in Rochester.
-
Jacob Bryson😝😁

Geertsen and Dunne will have roles this season for the Sabres. Whether that means they are on the opening day roster or not I’m not sure. But Lindy has plans for both of them this season

Where is Byram?

Bryson officially has pictures on someone

Ugly win but years past that is a loss. they need the defensive reinforcements back. Pats game is one I’m interested to see how they play. Allen was in his old bad habit of hero ball throwing deep to covered receivers. But he came back to MVP Josh and got the job done

Development is about dominating at an appropriate level not surviving at a higher level. Why does everyone want to rush prospects? Pro sports is littered with high picks being ruined by being rushed too quickly. He is a young 18 year old with less than 50 games of junior experience. Let him cook. -

Send him to Seattle. Let him play 30 minutes a game and dominate. No need to have an 18 year old Dman in the AHL. He hasn’t even played a full junior season yet. -
Injury update, Sept 26, 2025: Samuelsson Week to Week

Greenway and Muel make about $8.3 million between them. Replace them with let’s say Dunne and Johnson and you have significant money freed up for a Tuch extension or something else. -

I feel like Muel and Greenway are guys they could’ve moved on from. They could’ve let Johnson and Jones battle it out for 3rd LD and a fourth line combination of Beck/Geertsen Krebs/Kozak. Dunne would suit Lindy’s needs. Would save the team about $7 million to use elsewhere. -

True but it is a lot easier to play tougher when you have some tough guys around rather than none. Kesselring and Doan will both drop the gloves too. They will be a tougher team than last year. -

Lyon has looked solid. Georgiev had one solid game one rougher game but in preseason it is about the lineup being iced in front of you vs the lineup the other team ices. Georgiev’s game in Detroit the Red Wings had a much stronger roster -
Have we heard if Kulich is injured? Might be why Östlund is still up. Dont know why Lescyahyn is. Ive said before but I think Ruff has plans for Dunne and Geertsen. Kozak too

I like Norris’ game so much better than Cozens’. He just needs to stay on the ice. Helenuis and Mrtka continue to impress. I have a strong feeling that Ruff has plans for both Dunne and Geertsen. Lyon has been pretty solid. -

Mrtka getting another look today. Good for him. He has not looked out of place. Future is bright. Let him go back to juniors and play huge minutes this season. -

There are some athletes in all sports that just seem destined to always be injured -

I tried watching the game on my phone. What an awful experience that is. The score was pretty much what I expected going in looking at the lineups that were iced. I think Doan and Kesselring will be fan favourites by year’s end. They bring exactly what the team was missing. JJ was flashy but these guys are meat and potatoes and both seem to bring great leadership which by all accounts JJ did not. -
They have the “potential” to be an elite D corps Byram Dahlin Power Kesselring Novikov Mrtka would be a tremendous D corps when the bottom pairing was ready to play NHL minutes but that is not right now. Muel- Timmins is a decent 3rd pairing for the moment. Hopefully Kesselring can help unlock Power and he takes a big step this year.

UPL hasn’t even started any camp activities so he won’t be ready for start of season. It will be Georgiev-Lyon to start and they will build UPL back up. I definitely see a situation where they keep 3 goalies on the roster until they figure out where everything stands. Tough break for UPL as he really needed to come in with a strong camp and rebound from last season. Real opportunity for Georgiev or Lyon to take the reins early if they can find their games.

Pretty much the road Columbus game roster with a few changes. Helenuis can’t say he didn’t get a look. Interested to see how Georgiev plays. -
Does this mean we can have a break from Bryson this year?😁

Jarmo passed on PoolParty to take Dubois which was the right call. I wouldn’t be worried about them just taking Finn’s. -

Helenuis has looked good. I’d say one more year in Rochester than he is up with the Sabres. Him and Mrtka have acquitted themselves nicely this camp. I’d send Mrtka to Seattle and let him dominate the WHL this season. Dont rush these guys. -
Henry fumbles again in the 4th and then looks like he is going to kill someone. Ravens tried to hurry up 4th and goal and blew the play. The always seem to self destruct in the big moment. Lions really got to Lamar. Ravens-Chiefs next week. Keep stacking wins and put distance between these teams.
