I agree with you but with Terry’s reputation I’m worried if anyone more qualified wants to walk into that situation. That my point.
-
The problem is though that Pegula is going to expect the Adams relationship with any new GM. Does Karmanos want to be on the phone with Pegula several times every day listening to Terry’s ideas and updating him on every thing he is doing. It comes down to Terry backing the F off and letting a qualified person come in and have the room to breathe and do the job.

Adams, Karmanos, Forton it doesn’t matter. Those 3 are all part of the front office that is to blame for this mess. These are decisions Pegula wants. The next man up just does what Pegula wants done. Murray and Botts did not and they were canned. Lets not pretend for a second that Karmanos takes over and suddenly he has Carte Blanche to do what he wants. I doubt Adams is fired, he will be moved to some other position and someone in that FO will be promoted so Pegula isn’t paying anyone else. Just like Lindy and the assistant coaches.

Unfortunately this is the only way forward I see for this organization. There is no trade to make that will fix this. The organization’s reputation around the league is just too damaged. No player worth anything will want to come at this point. The best solution is Terry selling the team and a new ownership group come in for a fresh start. Clean out everyone and start fresh with the RIGHT people. Seasoned NHL people that are respected around the league. The stain of Pegula as owner is too great at this point. 0 for 14 for the playoffs, multiple questionable hires, the LaFontaine fiasco, the handling of Eichel, bloodletting the organization during COVID, the “maintaining our lifestyle” message, hiring a guy with no front office experience in Adams. BUT if Pegula stays as owner the only option is him deciding to bring in qualified vet NHL people to run the franchise and clean out everyone. Bring in people to that front office that are well respected and spin it as their team now with Pegula slinking into the shadows. This franchise is now at the “worst possible outcome” stage for players considering a move here.

1st Round Picks Since the Tank: Futile Drafting Got Us Here
Flashsabre replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Outside of the Nylander pick, I don’t have a problem with the drafting in the first round. It’s not the talent. Its the culture and development that these players have walked into. Cozens had 30 goals, Power is putting up good offensive numbers. They are definitely first round talent. They are struggling currently but that is not about talent level it is about environment and development. -
Caps, Leafs, Habs, Leafs, Bruins, Isles, Hawks, Blues, Stars to finish out 2024. How many (if any) games do the Sabres win? Realistically 2-7 at this point is my prediction. Beat the Hawks and take one from the Leafs.

I read a blurb on him that said scouts are worried about his lack of junior production this season. Edit: it is here https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/sportsnets-2025-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings-december-edition/

I really think that Terry has no idea where to go next if he removes Adams. Adams is his hand picked yes man. He doesn’t trust NHL people and Adams does and says exactly what he tells him to.
-
Do you honestly think. Lindy said “Please let me keep all the assistants that I have no relationships with”? Come on. He was told that they stayed. It was all about saving money. Adams has stood up there and lies many times saying money is not an issue and there are no financial restraints. Appert was promoted from within and the others retained so only one new salary and some of that is paid by NJ.

Sadly this checks out with this organization.

The defence should be ashamed of themselves

Which high pick can the Sabres add and ruin in their dysfunctional organization?

“On second thought, Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula weren't pleased with general manager Jason Botterill continuing to oversee their franchise. Citing a lack of communication and philosophical differences over the direction of a franchise in themidst of a nine-year playoff drought, the Pegulas reversed course in making the abrupt decision to fire Botterill on Tuesday. It was a stunning move that came three weeks after Kim Pegula told The Associated Press that Botterill would be retained.” Apology accepted. It’s like twitter here, people don’t want to take the time to do the work on anything. They just want to question everyone else

The run defence is a real issue. Josh couldn’t do anymore today. McD better get it figured out or another playoff run will be ended prematurely.

Look it up yourself. It’s not my job to do your work for you. If you don’t remember it then that’s on you.
-
The problem is Pegula. He fired Botts because he felt he didn’t communicate with him. Adams does whatever he says and probably calls him with every thought that enters his head. Does a quality vet GM want to have to call Pegula several times a day and kiss his ass and listen to his “hockey ideas” when he knows Terry is full of 💩?
-
Why do people think Lindy should be in the front office? He’s In charge of this mess behind the bench right now. He had Adams ear and helped to shape this offseason. Lindy doesn’t have front office qualifications and no way is he putting up with Pegula’s nonsense.

Yep I looked online and no one else was mentioning the Larkin story.
-
Oh yes Larkin wants to force his way out of Detroit to walk into this tire 🔥
