https://soundofhockey.com/2024/06/03/a-data-driven-look-at-2024-nhl-draft-top-prospects/ A different approach to looking at some of the top draft prospects.

http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/ I couldn’t pass up Dickinson if he was on the board at 11.
-
No thanks. No desire to move Power
-
IF the Sens were actually going to trade Brady and IF they were willing to move him to Buffalo I think they would want Levi and Peterka. They are desperate to find their goalie. JJ they could team with good buddy Stuzle as a dynamic 1-2 punch.

Sabres are Cooking people. Fans about to eat😜
-
I’ll be surprised if Iginla gets to Calgary’s pick. But he would be the slam dunk PR pick for the Flames
-
Bigger Jack Quinn😀 Iginla and Senneke are the two that are going to go higher than initially ranked. I’d be surprised if both aren’t top 10 picks.
-
Eiserman could be an elite goal scorer but the issue is if his scoring doesn’t transfer you are basically left with VO. I really haven’t watched his game enough to see his compete and what not. He seems like the type of pick that someone will look like a genius or a fool selecting him top 10 or so.
-
Yep you always take the best player because when it’s time to trade other teams like better players rather than worse players. If Catton is there you take him and then you can move a Savoie for a great piece now and still have a similar piece in the system.
-
And it will be amazing watching the usual suspects blow a gasket because the Sabres steal him at 11. “But but but he’s not 6’4. He won’t punch someone in the face every shift”
-
Run to the podium to draft Catton at #11.
-
6-1 now. It’s over
-
He’s basing it off of Vatrano’s outlier season this year. He’s not a centre either. Brutal proposal
-
Bills are signing Olympic gold medalist wrestler Gable Steveson. He has never played football. Report says he will play on DL. I guess put him on the practice squad and hope for a miracle.
-
I chose them at their NHL peaks (why I chose Crozier over Miller)
-
Just for fun. Build you ultimate Sabres team. Only rule is that it has to be made of players who have played for the team. Here’s mine: EDIT: Pick players based on their NHL peak R Martin Perrault Gare Mogilny Lafontaine Hawerchuk Vanek Eichel Reinhart C Ramsay Peca Drury Extras: Briere, Rene Robert Dahlin Schonfeld Housley Zhitnik M Ramsey McKee Extra: Power Hasek Crozier Extra: Edwards Coach: Scotty Bowman, Associate Coach: Ruff

The fact that the Sabres had Suchanek in camp and didn’t sign him but drafted Leinonen is very frustrating

https://www.tsn.ca/chl/matthew-savoie-enjoying-final-ride-at-memorial-cup-after-nomadic-final-junior-season-with-moose-jaw-1.2128236 Nice write up on Savoie

There will be a couple very good players available at #11. That is good for Buffalo if they keep the pick and makes it appealing to other teams in a potential trade. The only player I’m not in love with is Eiserman, just not impressed with his overall game. But if you make a trade with Kulich then he can replace him as the sniper prospect in the system.

Sabres will not be signing Mats Lindgren to an ELC
Flashsabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The draft is a crapshoot even in the top 10 most years. You draft a kid at 18, send him back to junior or where ever he plays and hope he grows and develops. Lindgren never developed his overall game. I mean Kamloops were hosting the Memorial Cup and he asked to be traded. Something didn’t make sense. If they sign him they hope he can crack the ECHL roster but there is no guarantee he can. His skating was a big plus but the rest of his game was just meh. -
I believe Metsa’s AHL deal is for next year too. He will be 26 but I see him as a guy that will get NHL time eventually. So smart. Could be a Chad Ruhwedl type that can play useful minutes in a bottom pair role at a cheap price.
-
I think TB bringing in McDonaugh nixes any Cirelli deal. They are trying to win now and Cirelli is their 2nd line centre. They will try to move out the Jeannots and Shearys but massage the cap to keep Cirelli and bring Stamkos back. They need to sign a 6th and 7th dman and bottom line players unless they just promote from the AHL. The only way I see them moving Cirelli is if they get a cheap replacement that keeps them competitive.

Komarov got kicked out for nailing Savoie after the empty net goal. I love Komarov’s compete. Kid is a warrior. PLEASE make Novikov-Komarov a thing in Rochester next season.

I read an article that said Tulsky basically ran things but didn’t have the people skills to deal with the GM personalities around the league. Waddell was the guy to talk to the other GMs. I would imagine that setup will continue and an old school figurehead will be named Carolina GM and fill the same role.
