Good win. Hope Cozens is OK. Third game in four nights, Muel out, Comrie in net for the first time in forever. Could have been an easy night to phone it in but these guys came to play tonight. I am really liking both Joker and Boosh’s games of late and Clague hasn’t hurt them at all when inserted.

Has any Sabre ever made getting 2 points a game look as easy as Tage this year? You look up and he has collected 2 points almost consistently. That goal was as pretty as it gets.

Agreed but my point was this board has nothing but praise for Jost while dumping on Mitts based on expectations. Mitts was our pick while Jost was found money. I think people are short changing Mitts. He is an effective PP distributor and a solid playmaker. I think he over thinks things sometimes which lead to some head scratching turnovers. I have no problem with him in the role he is in. That line is producing. If Mitts was a 3rd line winger and our team was struggling to score then there would be a lot more venom towards him. But with Tage and Cozens stepping up and become scoring centres for this team then Mitts can settle in to a different role.

The thing is when your team drafts a first rounder the fan base expects a top end player who can function as either a top 6 F or top 4 D. They see a bottom 6 or 3rd pairing guy as a failure. But if that player goes to another team there are no expectations on him. I remember Paille going to Boston and being a great 4th liner after being a disappointment here with a lack of offence to his game. We could care less where Jost was drafted. If he can fill a bottom 6 role effectively then great. Colorado expected more from him.

I think those are his numbers for in conference games. Overall he has 12 wins, 2.37 gaa and a .926 sv% overall.

Joker is better than Dumba right now too. People just want “names” they recognize to come in but not many are better then Joker as a #4 dman. a big rugged LHD to replace Bryson and pair with Boosh as a “playoff style” 3rd pairing is the better play right now. But that Dman shouldn’t cost a 1st to acquire. Doesn’t need to be a big name, just a solid guy that can switch with Bryson depending on the style of game.

The third line has picked up the slack for JJ and Quinn. There are few teams that have 3rd lines with the production the Sabres have from theirs. As others have pointed out, since Jost was added to that line they have consistently been clicking. With Jost on the 3rd line and Krebs on the 4th it seems like the forward lines have finally settled in.

Martin Jones in Seattle is 22-6-3 with a .894 sv%. Sometimes the numbers don’t always add up with goaltending and success. UPL does give up some questionable goals but he seems to make the right ones on this run in order to help the team win games.

I don’t think Adams makes any moves for vet rentals. His philosophy is to let the young kids grow through the process and experience and grow together.

I think this works in the Sabres favour. The reason no deals have been made is most of the league has no cap space. The Sabres have it and should be able to make a deal if they want to.

Great win against a very good team. Tage looks confused out there at times right now. Struggling but working through it. 2 assists tonight and making an impact even while in a funk. Good for Power, he has been tremendous. The goals and assists will start to rack up. Goaltending was great. Anderson kept them in early. Two WRs that moves on from the Bills (Zay Jones in Jax and Isiah Hodgins for NYG) became huge parts of those teams offences when they couldn’t crack the field for Buffalo. Is talent the problem here or scheme?

The Bruins pro scouting is tremendous. They identify players that can fill specific needs in their overall vision of team building. The players basically revolted against Cassidy this offseason and ran him out of town. Montgomery has come in and has done a great job of keeping the systems in place. They are a veteran well oiled machine that are having a tremendous season.

WR is not this team’s biggest problem. Brady and Rodgers threw to guys off the street for years. Championships are always won in the trenches. The Bengals embarrassed the Bills on both sides of the line. Go watch the Chiefs-Ravens game. Mahomes has all day even on one ankle, to make plays. Find away to improve the OLine. Find a new D Coordinator with a new philosophy to utilize the talent there and find some upgrades if possible.

Um let’s focus on trying to beat a very good Bengals team before talking about the Chiefs.

Quinn always explodes his second season in a league. He has all the skills. He needs to really improve his core strength if he really wants to take that step. I think he gets there in the next couple years.
