Outside the top 10 I am not blown away by this corps. This would be a year to move it for a long term piece

First order of business is locking up Dahlin and Power to long term contracts. Also Mitts is extended. For me I have two free agent targets: 1) Varlamov. He is mid 30s and has been consistent at a position that sees many ebbs and flows each year. Overpay a bit on a 2 year deal for a 1A/1B situation. If not Freddie Andersen or Annti Raanta are secondary options. 2) Ryan Graves. He is 6’5, 220lbs and would be their 2nd Muel. He would solidify the 3rd pairing with Boosh. Good in his zone, good on the pk, will clear the net, has played well in NJ’s upscale system, has playoff experience. He checks so many boxes. The other area is top 4 dman. This I look for through trade. My assets are 2023 1st, Joker, UPL, VO at 50% retained, one of the 2nds, prospects not named Savoie, Kulich, Östlund. Im going to look at a couple teams looking for change and having cap issues. First is Calgary. Huberdeau and Weegar’s big deals are kicking in and Lindholm has to be signed. Rasmus Andersson would be ideal but I don’t think they move him. Hanifin is the target. One year left on his deal. I need to be able to talk to his reps and make sure he is interested in extending and what that is. If those lineup then I trade for Hanifin. 2023 1st And Joker is my offer. Hanifin is a LHD but with his skating I have no doubt him and Power can interchange sides. If that doesn’t work out then I pivot to Vegas who are in cap he’ll yet again. My target is Shea Theodore. Again I offer the first and Joker or VO at 50% retained or a prospect not drafted in the first last year. Theodore can play both sides and is very mobile. Would work well in Buffalo’s system. Up front I don’t do too much. Savoie might push his way into the team, same with Rousek. What Okposo wants to do is up to him. I am counting on big jumps for JJ and Quinn plus Mitts continuing his rise. A lot of you saying today Adams did nothing or I know he will do nothing this summer. So take over the role and get it down in writing. What would you do this summer to move this team forward. And be specific, who are you acquiring, what assets are you using to acquire them and what do you do when the free agent or GM of the other team says no? I’ll hang up and listen.

I was watching the Pens feed. The announcers were just in disbelief that they lost. And it was final home game so all these fans came on the ice and they players had to come back out and give their sweaters away and take pictures. You could see that they were all dying inside. It was so awkward to see.

The past week with the season on the line UPL and Comrie weren’t even options especially on back to back nights.That tells me all I need to know about what they think of them for next year. I love the position this team is in for next year. Everyone knows what they need. Two solid D men and a solid vet 1B goalie. They have the cap space and assets to address these needs. They need to have the offseason the Devils had last year. Brought in Vanacek, Graves (Ibelieve he was last offseason) and Marino and took a giant step this season.

Livingstone and Polin signed a couple weeks ago. Quinnipiac have some interesting guys: - goalie Perets -small dman Metsa -scoring winger Graf - Brindamour’s son is not signing with Edmonton

It was one game but his skating was quite noticeable. He couldn’t stay on his feet either. I’m not saying he is a bust at all. Just saying he looked nowhere ready to step into a playoff lineup.

Leafs are bringing guys from Canadian universities and junior teams to be backups because they don’t have enough money to have real backups. 😂 All so they could sign Knies who looked just brutal last night. Really has to work on his skating to keep up in the NHL.

They don’t need more draft picks. The pick would be added on to the end of the 2nd round of the 2024 draft so essentially a 3rd round pick. Why would they value that?

I imagine Luke Hughes makes his debut for the Devils tonight. If that is the case then I suggest they pressure him because he Loves to give up the puck.😀

It is more likely Adams was probably trying to convince him to the benefits of an AHL playoff run. That was what the zoom meeting was. His options are sign an NHL deal, maybe get a game to end the year and burn a season of ELC. Adams probably hoping he signs an ATO, joins the Amerks for the playoffs and starts his ELC next season. If he didn’t want to sign I think his agent/advisor just sends a message saying he is going to explore free agency.

Forgot to mention that Greenway has another good game. Couple big hits. Almost scored, very responsible defensively. Since coming back from being out a few games he has really started to look like his old self. Donny’s track record is very good at getting his players to take a step and I fully expect Greenway to do so next season.

He doesn’t make mistakes in his own end and has exceptional positioning. Again he is good at what he does.

Why are people saying he is not good? Some people are conditioned that if they tune into a game and a dman isn’t going end to end with 59 points then he is not good. What the Sabres desperately need is a couple dmen that are solid in their own zone. That is what Johnson is. Not flashy but does his job well.

Watched the Rangers feed. Announcers were really complimentary of the Sabres. Really good things to say about Dahlin And Power. They were fawning over Levi by the end. Great to see Mitts on this run. No way they move him. Dahlin, Power And Mitts get extensions this summer. Both goalies were lights out tonight. I don’t know if Buffalo trusts anyone but Levi in net until they are eliminated.

Stop positioning your personal opinion as fact. There is no indication the Sabres aren’t interested. The pick would be at the end of the 2024 2nd round so really a 3rd round pick. They should sign Johnson. He is a good defensive dman. Something they need more of.

Levi starting again. There is no way they are coming back with UPL and Comrie next year. Trade UPL, put. Comrie on waivers if need be. Sign a vet free agent as a security blanket for Levi.
