How can I put this in a tact manner: Worrying about a Tuch extension is a moot point as the odds of signing Marner (essentially a pipe dream) are far better than Tuch signing an extension. Unless a biblical miracle occurs Tuch will be dealt at the deadline for a late round 2027 first before he can walk as a UFA. He is as good as gone and accepting that fact will make it far less painful when it actually happens.

The idea our "reward" for the single most catastrophic failure of a season in team history is likely a AAAA "not an AHL player but not an NHL player either" guy is just beyond depressing.

The theory is the league did it as a make good for hosing them out of the ASG (which the team used access to as a renewal incentive BTW). (Yes I know it's total nonsense).

Islanders STH's en mass called their reps at the end of the season and told them either Lou goes or they go, which is the main reason Lou got fired. They earned this.

He wants to get paid like a top line guy but is not a top line guy and will never be a top line guy (the fact that his numbers are awful when not paired with Dahlin pretty much prove this). Trading him to fix a roster hole before everyone else in the league catches onto this fact is such an obvious move.

When Dahlin was hurt he was used as the top guy and sucked so bad he made Risto look like Denis Potvin.

The "good" news is you don't have to worry about Adams giving Tuch $9 million per because he's counting down the days until he escapes this dumpster fire franchise and wouldn't stay here for any amount.
