  1. Good on Dahlin. Bad in Greenway. I wanted him for today. Tampa needs a thumping. Is Jennot playing?
  2. No Rico, the grade is a C+, not a B. Let's go!
  3. I do not see the purpose in grading the trades at this time but it is common in todays sports world so here goes. Stillman - C- but potential for higher. He should replace Bryson and Clague so that in itself could be a really good move. I wanted to make a bigger splash on D, maybe add more of a solid and respected veteran force back there. At minimum we added much needed depth and physical toughness to the team. Greenway - B- with potential for higher. At a minimum he is a deterrent to help stop the the flagrant cheap stuff that happened in the last Tampa game. I would love to see Greenway introduce himself to Nick Paul this afternoon. DG is excited that he has a reclamation project so lets see what happens. Giving up Bloom and a late 2nd in a draft were we have 2 other second rounders does not dent the bevy of picks and prospects that Adams has. Adding size and toughness has been talked about all season and they did that. Overall C+ with legitimate opportunities to improve. Moving Asplund, Bjork - good karma moves and that is it Moving Portillo - salvages the pick we spent on him
  4. I am waiting to see how Greenway works out. DG and KA are just taking a shot at improving the roster. This is how I see it. The Sabres are playing for a playoff spot and their games are now at another level of compete. Refs have put away whistles quite a bit already. Dahlin and a few others have been literally attacked recently and there is no deterrent on the team. You cannot count on the refs either. Greenway will at a minimum be a policeman, and if DG can help him turn his game around that is even better. People complain that we have no size and no grit. The Sabres go for it and acquire a guy with both. Now this new poster shows up out of nowhere to stir things up and to get some attention.
  5. Trolling. He will be gone tomorrow to haunt the Bills message boards.
  6. From what we hear its to the point of having different criteria when trading with us.
  7. Good questions. Could be the players but probably a combination of that and the way it’s coached. None of the D seem good at it except Dahlin. They miss too many opportunities to find an opening and clear the puck. Especially Looby. I think Z, Kyle, Krebs, Jost and Tuch (not Tage) should be able to cover the forward spots. Just when the teams face off performance starts getting better, the PK drops to basement levels.
  8. Dahlin is the key. Is he back and healthy? Was it the vicious cross check in the back from Paul? Maybe that cheap shot gets avenged? We will win this game if the goaltending holds up.
  9. The premium is on the potential of a goalie with 4 NCAA seasons.
  10. Yes. It is much better to be marginally Buyer's then perennially Seller's that continuously start over. But we know that. The two acquisitions make sense. They add size and toughness, not nearly the skill that some others have but we could use complimentary players. We really have to stop teams from running our players. They will help with that. The things Adams talked about such as term, cost, and fit have been checked. In fact these two are former disciples of Granato to some extent. Separately, Adams took care of Asplund and Bjork. Some may think no big deal but he is trying to change the culture and image of the organization. He is making sure when players come here and don't make it that they can leave and can continue their careers. Players appreciate this and word gets around on how things are run. Given the circumstances and were we are as a team the deadline moves were ok. Let's move on to beating Tampa tomorrow.
  11. @Claude Ballswas napping.
  12. I would take Wilson, but he probably would decline the Sabres if he can.
  13. That is up to Granato. Whoever works best with Power is the 4 right now. That should be Joker, but that will be up to Granato.
  14. I like that it gives Asplund another shot. He was not bringing scoring, speed, or anything else to this team.
