  1. I am retired and will be staying up late to savor Adams 2nd last game.
  2. If Adams is replaced as GM he simply cannot be promoted to another position in Hockey Operations. That would create problems, factions, and confusion. He could possibly go back to Business Admin, or back to Harbor Center, but even that is awkward.
  3. You are correct, Bowman was GM in St Louis, but not in Montreal, his gig right before Buffalo. Regier did mention "suffering" before he left, but there is not a difference, it is irrelevant to my point. He said it because he meant it, and he later tried to retract it from suffering to "patience". The patience is long gone and the suffering continues.
  4. Could be. @Taro T is disagreeing with me so maybe Bowman was GM there? He was not a GM in Montreal.
  5. I think your right. I would love to see DeBoer come in and eventually replace the entire coaching staff.
  6. I think Adams has the desire to fix things. Adams has not shown the know-how (see goaltending, roster construction, coach selection, and the inability to make big trades or sign big UFAs). At the same time Adams has had two big factors working against him. The first being that the Sabres perception around the league has been trashed. The second are Terrys internal requirements including operation under EEE. Despite what he says in defense of Terry there was an internal cap and there is still no willingness to fire people that are on contract.
  7. Actually I have to correct Paul Hamilton - Imlach is the only one and he was hired as both GM and HC. Punch was hired by Seymour Knox. Mr Knox also retained Fred Hunt from the AHL Bisons as the AGM. Hunt was a long time Buffalo hockey presence - first as an AHL player, then coach, and he eventually became the Bisons GM. As the Sabres AGM he ran the minor league club in Cincinnati and led them to a Calder Cup in just a few years. Bowman was hired as HC and GM, but Bowman was not the GM at Montreal. Buffalo was his first GM gig in the NHL. So Hammy needs to relook at this. Gerry Meehan was next. He went to law school after playing and then was hired by the Sabres into their legal department, then he worked the hockey FO, then eventually be became the GM. John Muckler was the HC in Edmonton and came to Buffalo as GM/HC. Darcy Regier was an AGM before the GM at Buffalo. He held the job for 16 years, through Rigas, Golisano, and the first year or two of the Pegulian Reign. Darcy predicted the suffering in Buffalo as he walked out the door. After that we have had Terry Pegula running hockey operations, hiring friends, a few former Sabres, and a few Pittsburghers. Pegula had Regier, LaFontaine/Murray, Botterill, and Adams as GM.
  8. First, I never said the Sabres get hosed by officials because "they deserve it". Once again you make a flawed interpretation and try to sell it something someone said or thinks. Never once did I say "the Sabres deserve it". Here is the string of correspondence, here are the receipts Promo. Number one You bolded the above and commented below: ^First Promo Comment - The Sabres get the dirty end of stick far more often. My response: My response. So far the words "we deserved it" which YOU quoted, are not there. My response points to the state of the team - because the owner does not show he cares, why would the league or anyone else. You last comment, completely opposite of your first. What is it Promo? Promo 1 - "We won this time" But it seems we get the dirty end of the stick more often" Promo 2 - "Call it the same for every team, every game. The notion that you only get fair officiating if you somehow earn respect is horseschitt." You have now flipped the argument over and you are on the other side. As long as you can disagree you will. That is what you do. Now, this has gone full circle and I am done.
  9. Maybe Ruff is looking for a more physical player? I see he is listed at 205lbs. Is he scrappy?
  10. PTR just has a habit of putting down the fan base. Most fans lack his level of sophistication to fully comprehend these complex situations.
  11. Rob Ray is a well liked fun character and a nice guy. He was a real Buffalo Sabre and is a member of the teams Hall of Fame. Terry, being a hockey guy too, likes to hang with the guys. The fans are fans.
  12. So you want to repeat the past? He had 3 number 1 picks in 2022 and our GM traded none of the picks on draft day or prior. No one is trading a top 2 or 3 first rounder for mid and late round first rounders.
  13. I am not fine with it. So how about this. Wake up the owner, tell him to give a damm about his team, and maybe the rest of the league will too.
  14. I knew Doan could become a very good player but he is exceeding what I thought his ceiling could be. He is a building block. He will still become stronger, smarter, and better.
  15. Quinn was held, hog tied, and tossed to the ice in the final minute, blatant interference or holding, no call. The Edmonton announcer thought it was funny. They must to used to getting the benefit of the doubt. Prior to that, Dahlin gets two minutes for tripping when he checked the guy with the puck behind his own net.
  16. Last year a guy kicked one in on us and they determined he didn’t do it intentionally. The NHL is not a serious league.
  17. So we hook this talometer up to each players butt and measure talent, then add it up, then divide by 23, is that right? Who gives a $hit about talent? What about size, strength, speed, skating, shot, skills, grit, mental toughness, intelligence, and durability? Talent is a concept compared to these attributes.
  18. Lindy would have lost the challenge and you know it. Why get worked up? they won. Go argue about the missed icing on the first Edmonton goal if you want a winnable argument. And yes, the rules are different when a goalie is outside the paint with less protection than if he is in the blue paint. Contact is allowed outside the paint unless it is ruled to be intentional, avoidable, or overly forceful - all judgement calls. Just touching a goalie who is in the blue paint is often called interference.
  19. The Edmonton goal to start the third was icing. That goal should have come off the board. Edmonton shot it into the Sabres end but never got to the red line. It was obvious to all except the linesmen, even the Edmonton announcer saw it. I guess you can’t challenge icing? They also blew an icing call on the Sabres at the end of the 2nd, two Sabres were beating the Edmonton player back and the linesmen blew an early whistle. Toronto blew the hand pass. The puck hits the back of Tuch’s glove while his hand is on the stick - that cannot be a hand pass.
  20. Lindy would have challenged and lost. The Edmonton announcer said Lyon left the blue paint on his own, so no interference. 😂 The NHL makes it up as they go. A puck randomly hits the back of Tuch’s glove before a goal, it must be a hand pass. Winning In OT was fun. 2 points accomplished, Edmonton gets a loser point but they are out of conference so no big deal.
  21. nice Tuch. we get 2 points after all
