  1. But someone on Toronto said he didn't do it on purpose, o he didn't mean it, or something? The ref was right there and in the flow of the game. He waived it off immediately.
  2. @PASabreFan, the apology from NHL HQ is on the way ...
  3. Other than their PP, they have been playing good hockey without him. With the style that they play they can plug another grinder in.
  4. Sure. They "deemed" it was not deliberate. The video shows he lifted his leg and that motion directed the puck into the net. The ref called it that way too. Someone in Toronto determined it was not deliberate. They overturned an easy and logical no goal call on the ice, into a controversial call based on a guess of what the players intent was. Great.
  5. And yet Ryan Johnson is not beating the doors down to sign.
  6. So now they are going to let Toronto determine what the player was "thinking", instead of what he did. What he did was direct the puck into the net. The ref saw it and immediately, without hesitation said NO GOAL. It should not matter if it was deliberate when it was obvious that he lifted his leg and that move directed the puck into the net - meaning he did it. Can you imagine if this goal, called in this manner, settled a Stanley Cup game?
  7. Yes, our starting 20 is quite good but extremely young and still about 4-5 players short of a very solid contending roster. The depth is not there yet. It seemed like only yesterday we beat Tampa and played a strong and gritty playoff type game. The toll after that game was Muel, Stillman, and Jost - we can't cover that with Tuch already out and Dahlin not at 100%.
  8. We have to win 4-5 in a row to get a good shot. Not impossible, but with our goaltending (which has been ok the last few games), and the injuries, and with this teams inability to turn home ice into an advantage, it will be a real challenge.
  9. He is better now than ever and we have a lot invested in him. I like him OK as a middle 6 winger. He is showing better 2 way play. We don't need to keep both Mitts and VO - one needs to be packaged in a move that gets us a big, strong, mobile, smart, steady, veteran RHD to match with Owen Power. I prefer Mitts over VO. we need a big, strong, mobile, smart, steady, veteran RHD to match with Owen Power, screetch .... we need a big, strong, mobile, smart, steady, veteran RHD to match with Owen Power, screetch .... we need a big, strong, mobile, smart, steady, veteran RHD to match with Owen Power, screetch ....
  10. Now you’re with me? I have been pounding the table to trade for a legit veteran #4, move Joker down to 3rd pair, and get another NHL 6 ( not the likes of Bryson, Clagg, Pilut). Now we get to crunch time. Muel is out. Dahlin is playing hurt. Looby is playing hurt. Stillman out. Power is a rookie playing insane minutes and carrying dogs like Bryson/Clagg. We are very close to seeing Bryson, Clagg, and Pilut all in the same lineup.
  11. I knew when it took so long to make a ruling, that they were looking to overturn the call on the ice. The ref was clear and definitive from the start, no goal and kicking motion. Why was the refs decisions overturned? Why did they review it to begin with? I don’t understand why certain plays are automatically reviewed and others are not.
  12. I saw them in Rich Stadium. Summerfest Concert Series. July 26, 1974. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer Lynyrd Skynyrd James Gang
  13. Spyro Gyra used to play at the original Tralfamadore Cafe in the mid to late 70’s. Cover charge $1.
  14. Greenway had some good moments yesterday. The screen on a goal, and his play on the 6 on 5 helped us retain possession because the need a defender to move him. Matt Martin didn’t pick on anyone either.
  15. Why are you piling all these cliches on me? Go rain somewhere else. Depth, talent, young team, step up, everyone has injuries, everyone else is blah blah, rise to the occasion, fall flat, blah blah blah … nothing new here. You forgot grit, that’s a common refrain that you missed. Vent to the board if you must, nothing you said here is original or relates to my post.
  16. Yesterday was the first time I started getting doubts that they may not make it since the run began. I see how injuries have hurt them, good teams must overcome this level of injuries. They have to find a way. Many of the fans here have already given up. A few more gave up last night and this morning. I think they still have a shot but they need a winning streak to turn this around. They can still get hot again.
  17. We recently beat Tampa twice, Florida, Washington, So you don’t acknowledge we played them on a back to back? I credit the Islanders as a grinding team, tough to play against. We didn’t have our wheels tonight. We are not out of it We are a team on the rise. The Islanders are not, they have not advanced in the standings in years We will pass them next year
  18. Nowhere near a playoff team? That’s a ridiculous take. We played last night, then traveled, that was part of the difference you saw tonight.
  19. Mitts needs a signature goal. Almost got one last night, maybe tonight.
  20. 6 minutes left before the announcer’s mentioned Sabres legs. Not once have they mentioned we are on a back to back.
