  1. Two things I’m not at all worried about: 1) The Sabres under Kevin Adams rushing a player’s development; and 2) The Sabres making a serious playoff run in 2023.
  2. They do not love the grind. Plenty of skill but not nearly enough grit.
  3. Felix Unger: “They say it may rain on Friday.”
  4. Adams operates like he’s running a permanent development camp or a college program. He may or may not know how to evaluate talent - but he sure seems not to understand how to read the room of a fanbase. If he does nothing today and they miss the playoffs by a nose, he’s going to further alienate the fans. And some of us are beyond tired of it. Man was Darcy prescient with the “suffering” comment.
  5. Is it ok to want a bit more urgency though? Yes Adams has improved the team. But my goodness he's patient to a glacial degree. At some point the fanbase deserves some juice - and some measurable progress.
  6. It’s really important for a young core to experience 5-7 years of barely missing the playoffs while getting zero help from their bosses and netminders. Everyone knows this, it’s Hockey 101. Iron sharpens iron. Stay the course Kevin!
  7. Granato needs to be a bit more willing to pull the kid out of net and let him collect himself.
  8. Love it when a name is also a complete sentence.
  9. Also, no offense to professional hockey players, but I am not terribly interested in what books they’re reading.
  10. To be somewhat fair - Cassidy was a very odd choice and many of us predicted that he was the worst possible coach to get the best out of Jack. But whatever. I can’t imagine a Sabres team without Tuch. It feels like he’s been here for years and I can’t wait to watch him be part of this team’s impending success. Onward and upward.
  11. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen Skinner pass up the shot - and on an empty net!
  12. If it were just about (lack of) availability, I don’t think his coach would be calling him out like this. Strongly suspect/reading between the lines that Jack’s leadership issues are what’s grating at Cassidy. Off the ice stuff. Even though that’s not how the quote is phrased. Point per game players don’t typically get trashed like that.
  13. They simply do not play defense or win face offs. The basic blocking and tackling that raise the floor.
  14. Snakes: causing trouble since the Fall of Mankind.
  15. And you put it in such an obvious place, too. My sincere apologies.
  16. To be clear: he invested $1.2M in snakes but wasn’t prepared for them to start screwing each other and reproducing in captivity.
  17. Some days I’m not even sure what to make of reality anymore. https://sinbin.vegas/robin-lehner-files-for-bankruptcy-due-to-ownership-of-exotic-snake-farm/ Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner and his wife Donya filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy with the District of Nevada on December 30th, 2022. According to the public filing, Lehner estimates the worth of his assets between $1-10 million while his liability to creditors is between $10-50 million. In the bankruptcy filing documents, Lehner is said to be the owner of RL Exotics LLC, “which operates a reptile farm in Plato, Missouri, which is an operating business with 3 employees, and which requires reptiles to be maintained and fed.” Lehner was first linked to snakes back in 2017 when he reportedly purchased a collection of exotic snakes for $1.2 million.
