  1. If that is the case - the product is a fraud. I don’t understand how anyone pays to watch it. You’re being sold garbage.
  2. I think Krebs is exactly the kind of player Ruff can reach. I am taking the over.
  3. Accountability usually requires well-defined metrics of success - the obvious one being winning percentage. The Sabres have not prioritized winning the past few seasons so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they haven’t emphasized accountability, either.
  4. Interesting that both the Skinner and Diggs departures are being sold to the fans as "addition by subtraction" - both moves put more cash into Pegs' pocket for 2024. Something is up.
  5. Not around these parts lol
  6. The Athletic also reported a few weeks ago that Savoie wasn’t thought of as a future star around the league. Also, weird, aren’t the Oilers without a GM right now?
  7. Def not trying to say anything political. Sub in prep schooler. Or lottery winner. The point is - he’s a frustrating example of someone who got where he is because of connections, not merit. For those of us without connections who are judged every day by production, it’s hard to stomach.
  8. Back to the topic at hand: Yea, absolutely, Kevyn Adams deserves to be fired. He is a textbook example of an unqualified white man promoted by nepotism and held to relaxed standards of accountability. He has achieved absolutely nothing, yet exudes an unflappable and unwavering confidence and cheerfulness in his media appearances because he knows his status is safe and secure.
  9. This is the most depressing thing I’ve read here in a long time (but appreciate you sharing the info). I don’t read @tom webster’s post as giving KA a pass.
  10. Fire the owner.
  11. That is actually kind of hilarious.
  12. They are trying to muscle and hustle their way into a playoff spot for 24-25 and slowly but surely improve their reputation. Not exciting but not crazy.
  13. <Adams putting on bridesmaid dress>
  14. Adams always has some reason why he wasn’t able to make the moves necessary to help the team. Always. NMCs, a surprisingly competitive goalie market, agents breaking promises-in-principle, other teams loving the Sphere and not wanting the distraction of draft-day trades - it’s always something. Other GMs don’t seem to have these constraints. Other teams have risen and fallen and risen again in multiple cycles of re-stocking in the time it is taking Kevyn Adams to build one playoff-caliber roster. Which he still hasn’t done and now we’re hearing new excuses. He is a clown.
  15. I don’t even get the sense that he’s sitting at the adults table with the other GMs.
  16. “Never have so many done so little with so much.”
  17. The headlines aren't even always written by humans. And sometimes the AI changes the headline multiple times throughout the day in an effort to capture the maximum amount of eyeballs. The algorithm pushes the language towards the provactive - the goal is to generate traffic and discussion. Looks like it's working.
  18. Truly amazing that it has come to that.
  19. I use melted butter instead of olive oil - I find olive oil tends to overpower the flavor. Also, a tip I learned from Guy Fieri - add a splash or two of hot sauce to the melted butter before you slather it on the baguette.
  20. Oof. This is Matt Millen-type behavior.
  21. Not to mention - the interview process is a great opportunity to LEARN things about how your own organization is perceived, or how other organizations do things differently, that you might not otherwise get. It’s free information that Terry and Kevyn seemed to have no interest in collecting. Again: doesn’t doom Lindy but is not a good sign or look. Once again Terry may be relying on luck.
  22. Cocoon, Part 3. But whatever. I’m with you. Let’s go to work and do this thing, Lindy.
