Ya, his character was legend. You felt at home watching Cheers, Boston and Buffalo and probably a thousand other towns in America had that in common back in the 80’s……beer! Thanks for the memories Norm.

How would you retool this team this summer?
Scottysabres replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I’d trade the owners decisions to another club. Lately, Vegas and their arrogant players and fans feels like a great organization to sick Pegulas decisions on. -
Owning/ending the drought: say it out loud, Sabres
Scottysabres replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I wouldn’t say ever, but ya I get it, they suck with no changes of significance to say things will be any different next season. At least, not at this time. the off season for them is long, I’ll wait to see what shakes out up to late September before passing the now annual off season judgement on them. I have no confidence they will surprise us mind you, but hey, maybe Kev and his staff started a free trial of the little blue pill, ya never know. -

Has anyone closely followed the Sabres Russian pipeline? Initial research says 4 of 6 Russian prospects are currently in the AHL. Maybe @inkman or others who’ve followed the Amerks closely can chime in. LG or others can chime in on the 2 that are still overseas? looking to know how they’re progressing and if we can expect to see any in the line up in a season or 2. Thanks in advance for input.

Sabres looking for Senior Advisor for Adams and Hockey Department

LG, apply -
I have a basement he can move in to. A modest 5k a month for him. I’ll even throw in a backyard hockey pond, as long as he foots the quarterly water bill. oh, and I’ll expect him to use the laundry mat down the road a mile or so.

Land it would have looked great had he not ate the crayons.

To everyone clamoring for the Sabres to trade the pick
Scottysabres replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Yes, trade the dam pick. -
Don’t care where we fell on the draft board for 1st rd. Trade the pick to better the team if a deal is there. Trade a prospect or 2 to better the team if a deal is there. Fir the love of the hockey gods, just better the team for next season!!!!!

Wasn’t Hollins a member of that worst in the league separation group? Just sayin…..

Terrible trade, for a guy overwhelmingly projected to go mid 3rd. Why on earth would you give up 2 late 2nd round assets? We have three 5h rounders and two 6ths we could have moved up the board multiple moves. And the player selected isn’t even considered beyond a 1 technique player? WTF? Make it make sense.

Trade up if the talent and deal are there.

Most likely outcome to be honest. What fans are left, especially amongst the young, are most certainly numb to this ending to Sabres seasons by now, it’s been so long an entire generation is not merely apathetic, they’re most likely fans of other teams, and can anyone truly blame them if that is the case? I can’t.

ROR’s internal defeat as a premier player in his prime at the time. That more than any other event from the tank is permanently etched in my Sabres fan mind. To myself in any event, it was not only the bi-product of the first build out from the tank, but it appeared to linger, the mindset, the culture, long after his departure. His comment of losing his love for the game was the billboard poster statement of the tank imho.

Sabres recall Östlund from Rochester, April 4, 2025
Scottysabres replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
This organization has a very real problem with destroying young, unprepared, talented players by throwing them in to the parent clubs disaster. Let the kids develop without being subjected to this sideshow bob circus already Kevyn. You’ve done more than enough damage, why torture another round of this organizations future? -
There is no reason to. Address the defensemen deficiencies, sign and/or trade for what veteran presence defense and forward ranks with consistent 60 minute game play in mind. The team is young, lacks that veteran presence. Zucker and Greenway are a start, get 3 or 4 more. Offensive ability isn’t lacking, defensive play and consistency are imho.
