  1. As last season was coming to a close, many would have said the goaltending and defense were the weak link. Given the scoring those that thought that way were correct. But now the defense and goaltending have improved, the forwards failed to achieve consistency in scoring. So, what is the problem? Well, based on opinion only mind you, the defense and goaltending are actually at a point where the team can win many games. The rest of the league has figured out the Sabres offense, especially the power play. Our players aren't space creators in the offensive zone, they aren't creative, period. The league has shut down the Sabres through various ways, all similar however. Stop them at the offensive zone blue line, remove their one shot wonders Tage and VO, and the Sabres become primarily a parameter team. Just my view of things is all. And if major changes aren't made in coaxhing, and the forward ranks, I don't see the Sabres making the playoffs next season as well.
  2. Looks nice Doo. Unfortunately, my yard is currently flooded from the rains 😞 Brand new, still on the metal crate frame it was shipped in, Ryobi dual 80v electric 0 turn sitting in the garage, as I watch the grass clumps grow a bit out of control due to all of the water 😠
  3. Cozens is a very big concern given the contract Adams gave him. 7 mil aav for an average 3rd liner, yikes.
  4. Spent 2 years in Provo/Orem for work, it's actually a bueatiful area.
  5. He made a "clague" attempt at a stick lift.....then farted as he skated by the puck in the net.
  6. Yes, I found the definition "there's always next season" a bit more palatable 😉
  7. Interesting to note, tonight's Fan Appreciation gift from the organization were swords, with the word "seppuku" engraved on them, which I am almost positive means "there's always next season".
  8. Will KA just give up, opening the GM position to be filled by a competent, experienced available GM candidate?
  9. Oh my comment wasn't on the money aspect. It was on the "team needs to show stability in coaching and management dept" aspect. After all, that was the big bitch by many, not a stable environment.
  10. Then he can accept the double deal and send me the double part, since he doesn't need it and I recommended him 😉
  11. I don't believe for 1 second it's happening. His extension kicks in for what? 2 more years? Ya, I've prepared myself for 2 more years of this garbage.
  12. I enjoyed this game. It was nice to see hockey skill displayed. I especially liked the clean, crisp passing and board body work by Dallas.
  13. Sadly, and I say this sadly, I'm in the acceptance stage. We all know Adams and Granato aren't going anywhere, at least not this coming season. So ***** it, I'm a die Hard for life, I'll embrace it, close my eyes, cross my fingers and cheer them on to win.
  14. This is deep.......thoughts, by Thorny. Reminds of the day I saw Pegula skipping down the corridors at Key Bank posting these signs everywhere......
  15. I expected more from ya'll in.......shall we say......counter-points. Give a full 60.....slackers 🤣
  16. I was highly optimistic on the team in general, although, the goaltending and lack of scoring from the blue line group was a concern. Like many, I expected the playoffs as well, but I won't turn a blind eye to the vast improvement in those areas I mentioned above. My resolve is in my thread title. I chose it to highlight that.
  17. .For as much as an overwhelming majority of the fan base want change, outside of maybe some asst. coaches, the roster is where that change will occur. There are real time improvements that have been made, and to not acknowledge them while our frustration grows just doesn't feel right. 1. Goaltending.......inside organizational growth has improved this position. No need to get in to the particulars, we all watch it. 2. Defensive corps.......improved, the 2nd half of season gaa says it all, and while it's a complete effort, the defense has improved. 3. Forward ranks........we all know the skill talent is there, need on ice leadership towards what some call grit, others call heart. For myself, it's called individual accountability from each player to dig down game after game to apply a full 60 min. effort. Leadership on the roster is critical for this in my opinion ad Donny can't throw on a jersey and join the in game action. Sure the coach can do some, make adjustments, hold players accountable, but it's the players that need to self police their own play imo. So, from my view, we stay the course, continue to build the maturity of the roster, add those character leadership players in the off season and beyond. I'm very optimistic about this current teams future. I see an upward mobility in the standings in our immediate future. "Steady as she goes, stay the course".'
  18. Did my 3rd of my 4 day 7pm to 7am shift last night. Needless to say, I wasn't coherent when my wife and daughter decided I should be up at 3pm for what I now call, the instant storm cloud event. They did manage to stave off capital punishment by at least having a freshly brewed cup of Joe at the ready. I was prepared to hand down lengthy sentences, my wife knows me to well...... 🤣
