  1. I am just throwing it out there as an idea. Whether it's good, bad or meh is the type of discussion I'd like to see where Kane is not involved. Just something different is all.
  2. Trade Kulikov 4.33 aav, UFA, Lehner 2.23, RFA, Gorges 3.90 AAV (50% retained), 1 yr, Minnesota 2nd, Washington 3rd to Pittsburg for Maatta 4.083,333 aav, 5 yrs, Fluery 5.75 aav, 2 yrs and Pittsburg 1st. Keep Fluery exposed at expansion draft, protect Ullmark. We give them a fresh start at controlling net minder cost with a decent starter, and a defensive top 4 with a depth defender for both this seasons playoff run. We have the room to incur the 1.49 mil in added aav. I know Lehner won't be moved, but this deal looks close in value given the UFA status, depth positioning, Pittsburg cup run scenario and Expansion draft situation. That Pittsburg 1st could be used in another deal or pick it l. AMD if you notice, Kane is not involved....and this type of deal puts Ullmark in the spot light.
  3. With all of the scouts at last nights game and Kane playing the way he did I can see teams jockeying for added impact scoring from a power forward sitting up and taking notice. His contract, age and under the radar off ice since last summer all have added to his stock. If he'd take 5/5.5 mil at 4 or 5 years I keep him. I suspect however, he'll be looking for around 6 mil, even if only for 4 or 5 seasons. Every penny is going to count following next season with jack and Sam's new deals. While 500k to a mil per season doesn't seem that off setting, I suspect it will become critical down the road, in 4 to 5 years from now. My final assessment on Kane: Trading him for "the right" return (high caliber LHD for a Risto partner, or, subsequently an RHD OFD for McCabe's partner with an LW B+ near ready [20-22 yrs of age]) would be the ideal scenario. Keeping him is a larger risk at this time in my opinion, especially given his climbing stock. Either way this goes, one thing is absolutely a certainty at this point......this coming bye week is where it is all going to happen, if it does happen. Personally I see Franson, Kulikov and Gorges as possibly gone. Also looking at Girgensons and Ennis as possibly moved.
  4. I wouldn't get ahead ourselves when it comes to re-signing Kane. He's going to want more than the 5.25 aav he's costing now on his next contract. Most likely 6 mil.
  5. I was kidding.....lol I was playing on the whole Sakic and Sweeney thing :)
  6. And on that note......... Who has the pictures or video of Murray, Sakic and Lombardi in discussions?

  10. Its been speculated by Datar that yes, they are. LA GM Lombardi and staff looking at Buffalo for sure. Kane? Maybe. Buffalo had 3 scouts last night at LA AHL game. Come on Kaner, hat trick with 2 helpers, 4 blocked shots, 5 hits and a bloody knuckler that leaves the opponent fetaled at the end of the bench sucking his thumb, crying and heard mumbling "momma, momma".

  13. 7 - 0 Buffalo needs to run the table. They must get secondary scoring from lines 3 and 4 as well as the D.
  14. Maxi-pads are like goalie pads, for women.
  15. 18 scouts, including Buffalo, scouting Red Wings/Blues tonight.
  16. Can the thread title now be changed to "Lehner is a starter, until he's not again"?
