This There was a thread "Worst Sabres team ever?" I answered yes. Even during the immediate ppst Gilbert retirement years, the bankruptcy years, didn't have the feeling of despair I see now. I've lived through some dark Buffalo sports team days, bit nothing compares to this imho. I guess the just of it all is why. Why is a team so filled with capable talent getting slaughtered night after bloody night? Where is the dig down deep heart and soul of this team? Who will step in or up to pick up the tattered standard bearer flag of Sabres nation and LEAD this team and its fans up the bastion and on to victory? ......(Crickets)....... "To be Continued"

Sounds like many will get their wish. It's sounding more and more like Buffalo is going to spend some of those picks to attempt to move up to get a QB. Hope it works.

I would say yes, with the culture currently in play, this is the worst Sabres team in history.

This team is now officially defunct. With the news players are now at each others throats, it is becoming abundantly clear. Like a rudderless ship crashing the rocks along the shoreline this team is now on the rocks. Something needs to happen here. The culture is taking its toll. Botterill is going to have to shake it up in a major way.

It's finally happening. The players are becoming unhinged.

It's time to start moving the dead weight. Bogo, Lehner, one of Larsson or Girgs, Reinhart. Might be time to move Kane. But I'd be looking at ROR. This team won't be a contender for at least a couple more seasons. I'd say 2019-2020 season at the earliest. He would be the player to land that elusive 1/2 defenseman.

Niagara Falls Blvd, Wheatfield. I played all of my games there with the Wheatfield Blades and high school hockey back in the late 70's to late 80's. I used to hang out and wait to skate with Gate, Perrault, Schonfeld and later on with Cyr and Foligno. Great childhood memories.

WPG's speed is impressive. Lots of snipers on that team, they are stacked. Good build for them. Guhle has looked ok, next season when he's up I expect him to still be working out some rookie mistakes, but he should slot nicely as a 3/4. We need speed and beef. Murray's Reinhart choice is definitely a failure. Roll of the dice I guess. But the lack of tangible commitment performance wise by 8 to 10 players across the roster and that horrible Lehner trade are definitely causing some scar tissue.

Its going to be a llllloooooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggg road back to respectable hockey in Buffalo
