GDT:Sabres at Pittsburgh 2/22/20 1PM MSG, WGR
Scottysabres replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I believe the Sabres take this game, 4 to 2. Eichel shows up on the goal sheet a couple of times. -
I think EVERY TEAM seeks a goalie that can STEAL a few games each season, and those teams heading in to playoff spots, as of right now, have them.
-
I agree with this. 4 goals is enough to win a game, unless your goalie let's in 6.

Thank you! I am not remotely the best at conveying a message, but yes Weave, this is exactly dead nuts on imho. I say if they make a move or 2 at the deadline, add, and not just for the future, but pay a pittance and try to push back on the losing. Even if we are 10 and 11 points out of playoff spots, show not the fans, but the players in the locker room exactly what you said.

No Sabres players being held out of the line up as healthy scratches, at least, none of significant worth. That is telling imo. I have no idea what Botterill intends to do this deadline, whether he is under Pegula's thumb on any decisions and if there is an actual strategy in place for both a last ditch playoff run or moving in to the "next season asset acquisition" phase. But it's almost as if there is absolutely either no strategy at all, at least for the deadline, or he's so entrenched in his brain that this existing roster can do it that he refuses to make a move, that it is mind boggling as a fan.

Winnipeg and Knights hookup, Eakins to Winnipeg, Vegas clearing cap space. Took this from a post on another site...……. There have been some reports that the Sabres and Knights were talking a week ago. Have no idea to the articles authors sources, so cannot speak to it's validity, but, Vegas and Buffalo have been scouting one another. Here is the article...…... Sabres and Golden Knights could be trade partners again

Whenever your avatar fills next to a thread as the most recent post, I drop anything I'm doing and read. Just keep doing what your doing, it is appreciated, as a fan.

I hardly consider Gibson a substitution. But yes, Rakell would be a substitution.
-
And I'd trade him in a heart beat for John Gibson and Rickard Rakell out 9f Anaheim.
-
Kase to Boston for Backed and a 1st per multiple reports

Bogosian Signs a 1.3 Million Dollar Deal with Tampa

Does this mean his agent has a potential suitor for a playoff bound depth spot or did someone walk in to the forest and kiss Botterill, waking him up from his all season slumber? -
So, if Botterill trades Sheary back to the Penguins, does that make the Sabres the AHL team for the Pens? A place to stash Penguin players until they are Cap compliant for their return? Honestly, the attachment of the Pegulas to the Penguins organization has seriously hurt the Sabres organization, imho.

https://twitter.com/WGR550/status/1230673548110434304?s=20 Wonder if Gerbe can be had in a trade, shows more heart, passion and quite frankly, strength than over half our roster. Come to think of it, Ennis shows more speed and skill then half our roster. Any chance we can put the smurf squad back together ?

Anaheim. They have some pieces that fit both Botterill's reported want (term), and what Ducks GM Bob Murray may find limiting (term), at least, according to this late Jan. article. https://ottawasun.com/sports/hockey/nhl/ottawa-senators/anaheim-ducks-general-manager-bob-murray-wants-to-be-busy-before-trade-deadline Here is a look at their roster: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/ducks Names of note, Kase and Rakell. I'm also very interested if ole' Bob would listen on their Goalie, John Gibson.

Steak should never be frozen...…………..on the grill same day, or marinades for 24 to 48, depending on how good your marinade is. ?

Depends on the help and the asset(s). I taint getting any younger...………(insert picture of skeleton waiting for the treasure to be found on Oak Island here) ?

Not being behind closed doors, I am not aware who pushed moving ROR. So I won't deduce it was Botterill's idea, and I won't hold him to account for telling the Pegula's ROR stays or I go. That is not a realistic scenario, imho. I mean, honestly, could you imagine: Botterill: "ROR stays" Pegulas: "No, he goes" Botterill: "He stays!" Pegulas: "He's going, and you can always go with him!" Botterill: "Ok, he goes" ? Moral of this fantasy story (as are all stories surrounding the ROR saga, unless you were there) is DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU ?

I happen to agree with you, except, Bogo wasn't the only bad contract, Okposo's contract, although he does contribute some, is less than desirable for the production. Otherwise, carry on...……...

Lol, sorry, typing ahead of myself. Anything is possible, no matter how improbable, if the math works. And in this case, they are not mathematically eliminated...….yet. Botterill is looking for a top 6 with term, and no matter what the analytical hockey world pundits say, this deadline is as equally capable of landing that as the off season is. We have until 3pm Monday to find out. In the mean time, Botterill wants the playoffs in my humble opinion, moves are coming, for what price and exactly what in return, sometimes the waiting game pays off...…………….

Apples and ........... Filet Mingon?
-
If the players game play frustrates him so, maybe he should do something about it lol
-
The math says they can still make the playoffs.

I think he's going to bring in Trocheck from Florida. We don't play again until Saturday, he has time before then. And I don't think that's the only deal he'll make, I think another goalie is coming in as well. Along with another player or 2 to boot. I believe Botterill wants the playoffs, and I think he's going to bolster the roster to push up on Toronto and Florida. Just a hunch.
