  1. Hoffman moving up to the first line and Weeger to the first pairing of D. "I think Hoff's gotten off to a real good start," Quenneville said. "Trying to move it around to get balance… There's some offense in all the groups, but we need the top group to have the puck more and play in the offensive zone a little bit more." FTFY

  3. Kulikov for Pysyk The rights to Vesey for a third Lehner for a first Georges for a second McNabb and 2 second's for Fashing I'd said he throws darts on a regular basis. Not good, but he throws often.
  4. No, but Tim Murray is. He has lots of free time and we all know he loves the drink. ?
  5. Observations after watching tape delay. Surprisingly few complaints about Sobotka the last half dozen pages. Didn’t read the entire thread but has the hate dissipated? Every game I see him play I feel like MoJo and Skinner are losing points. His contributions are frustrating. His lame attempt at a juicy rebound in the third didn’t even excite me b/c I saw who was taking it. And isn’t he supposed to be great in face offs? Nothing said on the Broadcast regarding Vesey on the top line the last few shifts. Any reason for it? Was Olofsson injured? If it RK’s method of motivation, it failed. Really disappointed in his play. Can we now call Larsson/Zemgus/KO the third line? They play third line 5v5 minutes, they play PK minutes, match up against FL#2 and FL#3 more than against any fourth lines, and they actually can be trusted in a close game. I don’t think I saw the 4th line out there the last 8 minutes. Jack has an inherent ability to take over a game, and should have more 4 point nights this year playing with Oloffsson and Sam plus anchoring the new and improved PP. Not sure why he seemingly takes nights off like against Columbus. Dominant. With Sheary out, we have 5 legitimate Forwards. Love the 3rd line grinders but scoring will be challenging for them. Everyone else is replacement level. Bring Tage on the West coast roadie. Has to be worth a look. Unless things get better you can put Casey, Vesey or Vlad in the press-box.
  6. Today, agreed. But will you fell that way in June of 2021? The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
  7. 100%. Most of the early Mock Drafts I have seen show Miller as the consensus pick. Note that McCabe will be a UFA that summer so not required to be protected.
  8. Why would Buffalo even expose him? Or a better question is who else is worth protecting?
  9. Great point. I thought the same thing when he came right back out. Will be interesting to see how many Forwards see ice time in OT. Is it five or six?
  10. The Peg lost 4-1. They’re giving up almost 5 goals per game. Their only win is a game against NJ where they were losing 4-0 in the second. I have to believe if JB asked for Ehlers and was rejected there may be a phone call coming in November or sooner. Risto’s stock is rising and the Jets stock seem to be falling. Question is, if they come back with an offer equal to your original offer do you accept it or hold out for more?
  11. Check out Nic Hague. 2017 #34 overall. Six foot six, scored 35 as a D man in Junior, solid AHL year last year. Could be a gem. Played his first game last night due to injuries. And of course a gift of Tim Murray (by way of the Kings) McNabb looks solid and still relatively young at 28. The don’t have to sacrifice anything to Seattle and Cody Glass showing early signs. I’m with @Randall Flagg on this one.
  12. Is this a Tragically Hip cover band? Are they from the US or CA? Are they playing downtown?
  13. I was too, and that post reminded me of my rationalization, so I agree with you! I tried to justify after hearing about Vlad. Unless Ralph is Svengali reincarnated, it’s insane.
  14. I think i saw them play at a prison rodeo in Fontana. I cannot remember much, as I was taking mushrooms at the time.
  15. +1 on this take. Excellent analogy using Okposo. Below is who Vladdy played with in 2017/18 in STL. Arguably better centers, or wingers that season. So his absolute ceiling is 31 points when he is 30 years old playing 17.5M/game with a line up like this....and Ralph can somehow manufacturer more with less, and two years older? I too believe in putting players in positions to succeed. But within reason.
  16. sounds like someone needs to pick up the phone.
  17. No it’s Totally (un)Reliable Pi Mathematics.
  18. Apparently you know great low budget, 80’s musical sequels too. I can’t believe they were able to secure all the main characters from Breakin’. Shaba Doo, Michael Chambers and Lucinda Dickey. Mix in a rehashed plot, the same breakdance moves, a fresh soundtrack and some new middle aged WASPs and you have celluloid gold.
  19. I honestly don't know if they are on the page. I hope so. What I do know is that RK has been critical of Casey's play in the preseason, and the Sabres roster is very limited at Center so IF (my assumption) JB was the one to send Cozens back to Junior, what alternatives does the coach have for 3C with the current injuries and players remaining on the roster? to @erickompositör72 point about the coach having the final say on the line up - I concur. But decisions on the final 23 active roster have more to do with the GM. Especially if your coach is a first year coach with little experience. This is not Joel Quenneville in Florida. Unless you have a coach with 20+ years experience where they decide the roster and the line up. Unless Risto is traded for a grade A RW, making Erod available for a 3C role, I don't think there is much competition for this spot...today. I'm also in favor of sending the kid to Roch not just to work on his game for 18-20 minutes a night but more so to send a message. Kids today are more entitled than ever. I think the message was received by Tage, as he seems to have worked very hard this summer. Maybe just optics and good fodder for the media. We'll see.
  20. This is an assumption, based on what? Does JB not have a bigger say on both the decision to have Cozens sent back to Junior AND Casey not being sent to the AHL? I don't think Kruger has enough capital to overrule the GM's decisions (for now), and we shall see how CM is deployed over the first 20 games to better understand what Krueger thinks of his game.
  21. Came in late to his interview. What was the player Ray said is not guaranteed to make the team, and Bulldog thought was?
  22. Not sure if you saw the follow up post of this... Most states measure duty days to determine when these visiting athletes should be taxed. This includes practice days, along with game days, that are spent in that state (and city depending on whether that city levies a jock tax as well). To determine the duty days spent in each visiting state, the work days spent in the visiting state are divided by the number of workdays in a season, from preseason through the postseason. So Tampa plays Buffalo once in NYS, so as long as they depart that evening, Players are subject to roughly .37% of their income (which is 1 day divided by the total season of 270 days) at the NYS state income tax level. Based on Points AAV that equates to less than $2,000, or insignificant.
