  1. Bryson's probably concussed. No need to push the guy in early on a dead season. I'm mixed on what I want to happen. On one hand I don't want my team to be the one with the longest winless streak ever, but on the other hand they deserve that and it might be the straw that breaks Pegula's back and we see the change we need. Reason to watch anyway.
  2. If I'm not mistaken ticket sales for the opened up games were/are incredibly slow and I'm not sure they even sold them all. This reality may have finally woken Terry up from his deluded dream and he sees no option but to market a new climate of hope or else ticket sales for next year will be non existent. The only way to create that feeling of hope and renewal is to bring in a name hockey person like Rutherford (or Dudley, still my preferred choice). So in a way, I think Terry faced the choice. Either sell the team or step back and let it be reborn . At least I hope that's it.
  3. This older article has Rutherford wanting back in a job and he apparently wanted to set the Penguins on rebuild so I assume rebuilding a team is what he'd like to do and what better place to rebuild than with the worst team there is? https://thehockeywriters.com/penguins-former-gm-rutherford-wants-nhl-return/
  4. I wonder if we can get one of their goalie prospects in a multi player deal? That would be nice. Probably too much to ask for.
  5. Suppose it comes down to that negotiation of the Pegulas stepping back and giving him control. Wait and see.
  6. Oh I don't think there's any question that Skinner and Torts wouldn't get along, but do we wait for Skinner's contract to be over to get a winner?
  7. Bruins lose 1-0 to NJ. They really are offensively challenged.
  8. Just turn everything over to Dudley and let us all regain hope over the summer. Come on Pegulas do it. You can make his salary back marketing the return of the headband.
  9. I cracked a rib playing hockey in my youth. I was on the ice after 2 weeks but breathing was painful. I was good in about 2 months. Obviously they vary, but I was never in as good shape as these pros are so idk. Again, the secrecy leads to rumour and then conspiracy. The organization don't care what we think.
  10. I just don't want him to follow the Risto Dahlin path. He's the only bright spot in this season.
  11. You're only going to get a good coach in here if the organization commits to him and his ideas, gives him some control over who is on the roster and offers him a decent long term contract. So you do that and he comes to the GM and says (hypothetically) I don't like Eichel's attitude, then Eichel has to go. If Eichel comes in and says I don't like this coach he has to go, then Eichel has to go (same for any player). That's the only way it potentially works. You can't have it both ways, and based on their attitude to hockey people the Pegulas will not go for that. I would love Torts here but I am not optimistic.
  12. I'm not sure on the rules these days. Can we send Cozens to Rochester or somewhere else where the kid can experience some winning and have a little fun? I don't think he's going to learn anything here except losing .
  13. only a 4th rounder. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/rangers-trading-brendan-lemieux-kings-fourth-round-pick/
  14. Holy crap. We are 10 points below Detroit and Anaheim the other bottom feeders. First time I've looked at the standings for a while. Columbus is in trouble so maybe Torts is available season's end.......................
  15. Hey Terry. Give Don Cherry a call for some advice.
  16. short season is a blessing.
  17. Yes they do. My point was that wasn't Kreuger's job. These guys are professionals and are supposed to be in shape. Supposed to work hard. But we have coasters who don't even know how to lift weights properly.
  18. lol, yes it's always coaching...............blame the interim guy now. Come on man.
  19. Well it's hard to compare eras and circumstances but we are poised to have the longest winless streak ever and there's nothing special to tank for compared to Pitt with Sid so I think it's the worst ever. Hard to argue against that.
  20. Is that not a professional athlete's own responsibility?
  21. Well they played the third like they were trying to win a hockey game and we played it like we were trying to defend a tie and go to OT. Suppose that's what happens when you have the losing mentality. Bruins are an offensively challenged hockey team. They are strong on the puck and the wall and still control a game well but most of their team has little scoring finish. Their young players aside from McAvoy clearly not as good as the aging core. I suspect they go out first round. Fortunately for them, we are even more offensively challenged. Still, this felt more like a real hockey game so that's something. Small, but still something.
  22. It's going to be a draft pick and we will have to retain salary to make it a decent one. Big question mark for me is what we get for Montour? Depth D men are sought after by playoff teams but Montour is Montour so ???
  23. dis is too hard for me to remember and too involved to research 🙂 Perreault is obviously the top pick. 2nd round maybe Craig Ramsey and then 3rd round Bill Hajt I mean 1971 dat's how you build a team 1 (Martin), 2, 3 all hits with long term Sabres. Brian Campbell 6th round. Christian Ruuttu 7th round, dat was a good one. Krupp round 11 crazy good pick.
  24. Well the idea dat he was an adequate fill in until Cozens was ready to be 2C was delusional at best. Look at us now with Eichel out Cozens, a raw rookie is our best C. dat's a sad state of affairs.
