BUF TOR FLA are all fighting for 3rd in Atlantic. 2nd Wildcard spot will probably finish 6 ptns ahead of that Atlantic spot. And Toronto is a tire fire. I didn’t want to trade Ristolainen to FLA, but CAR? It’s Risto or Trouba, and the Wild GM unfortunately seems more desperate for a shake up

I can totally understand FLA not wanting to trade with BUF as we’re in direct competition for a playoff spot. CAR isn’t. Sounds like it’s another Karlsson flip though where the GM who refuses to trade in his own conference gets fleeced because of it

Think it just comes down to what kind of deals Larry and Girgs want. We don’t have many 4th line grinders in the minors they’re in the way of, so giving them term isn’t a problem. Just cap hit. I think whether they stay or not is on them and if they want more money to get into a different team atmosphere. Given they’ve rode out the tank and are seeing the change, do they want to? Botts is going to get blamed one way or another on these guys, but ultimately I think it’s all in their court.
