Hockey trade D for forward is a good trade don’t know why y’all are so pessimistic. Season was imperiled when Ullmark hurt himself. Go take any other team in the league and injur their top goalie and see how they deal. Hutton was actually good in stretches last yesr, his collapse has been epic
-
We lost our starting goalie to a freak accident and our back up goalie is a tire fire this season. Goalie problems are hazard to fix. Our prospects with promise are still young.
-
Seriously send Hutton to the AHL he is AWFUL

no, you just want to hate on Botterill The price of cap space, especially at deadline time when teams are desperate, is a premium in a hard cap league that's had enough years for all the teams to build-up on their contracts but go ahead and change the title of the thread and still exclude the 50% retained tidbit...
-
you're thinking about your math wrong. all that matters for cap hit is dependent upon where you are at a given-point in the season. They're retaining the equivalent of a start-of-season $2MM cap hit but let's take your other bold statement: "JB just mis-timed the market and mis-evaluated how much Scandy would yield in trade." So, what you're saying is that it wasn't important to find players to help fix the PK as early in the season as you could get another team to take on the cap hit? Wooo-- well if I remove all contexts surrounding my comparables it's no wonder you are confused on player's real values

These are also crazy prices. Hockey trade, stand pat, and sell last-second if teams really do get desperate and would include a 1st rounder for any of our rentals

they could have had cap saved up (capfriendly is dead to me ? )

I think everyone agrees with this

He had a 1C last year, which is another solution to his woes that Krueger has refused to do for more than a few shifts.
-
2C may be what Skinner needs. He really needs puck retrievers on his lines and he hasn't had many.

Overpaying for rental ROR impressive. They could have done that for no assets. Here’s a blast from the past of reporters mocking ROR for asking for 6.5: http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2014/06/17/ryan-oreilly-agent-now-preparing-arbitration-case-didnt-think-wed-attend/18548/
