Sobotka sucks at breaking-out of the zone. The defensive game is very overrated, same with face-offs. As long as Toffoli is smarter than Sobotka at break-outs, that line improves. Though I think Tage 1 for 1 swap is enough to improve that line.

Toffoli's value is low right now, healthy scratch. Pending UFA rental contract makes him even lower in value until the deadline, but we aren't a team that is banking anything due to LTIR to wait for him later either. Couldn't trade for him without shipping 4.6+ mil salary out to match, though the kings do have 5 mil in space to dump something if needed (Sobotka!) Not really sure what his value is even at right now, and then how much it goes up to take-on a salary dump to fit him in? Rodrigues+Sobotka for Toffoli+expendable contract? Or do they want to go bigger and include Ristolainen and Martinez as a swap, and change the prospect to something better?

They made spin-o-ramas in shootouts against the rules a year or two back. Most kids I see carrying the puck high would do so with a spin-move. I'ts great intimidation during warm-ups, though the goalies hate them. It's really hard to do without spinning. It's why it's used often from behind the net because they get the arc going around.

You point out the reasons various statistics are not telling of what happened, but then go on to ignore that and hold those statistics against them? Not sure how their OT could’ve been better other than scoring. The goalie getting a save means a potential lost possession. They tried picking corners and were less than an inch from scoring multiple times.

You don't go to a player like that and tell him to play conservative at all costs because sometimes it doesn't work. That's only what you teach guys who can't dazzle and make plays. Dahlin may have some stinker moments, but when a team is averaging 3 goals per game, and the player in sheltered minutes is averaging a PPG, you take those trades. Jokiharju plays things safe and is rarely on the rush. Of course he's going to look out of place less. The size/muscle gap from age 19 to 20 is also pretty large. Give it a break.

Their schedule hasn't been too crazy. Most of the season is like this. They will get a lot of time off before the Sweden trip and after it. The week I'm worried about is Thanksgiving---there's games in Florida Sun/Mon, home game Wednesday, Thanksgiving Thursday, then a back-to-back Fri/Sat both against Toronto. Toronto only plays the Red Wings that week. Everyone wants them to play Toronto well, but they're going to be in an awful situation to do so.
