I'm not sure if it's that simple to be honest, since last season I was wondering on how many teams would Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch start for said teams 1st line and it wasn't many. I just don't think we have much high end talent on offense, that 1 season seems like it was more of an accident than how they actually play but of course it's only 2 games in but if this starts to be the norm it could get real ugly , real quick.

I appear to be in the minority here but i think the Sabres are skating very well with a very fast team in the Devils, they have a bunch of young solid players. That hit on Peterka should have easily been an ejection and is the type of hit they say they're trying to take out of the game. Also many are mistaking toughness for fighting, I think we may only have 2 actual fighters (Greenway/Malenstyn) and I know we all wanted to see Tuch actually fight but he would have been another Dylan Cozens situation, Dillon is a tough fighter in the league, Tuch is not but yeah I would of at least liked to see a punch thrown before going down like a sack of potatoes. All in all I think we're playing well and Levi looks great so far, a little shaky but I like his positioning. Now I'll run away and hide in the shadows before I get pitchforks thrown at me LOL.

I bet the segments are mediocre also arent they?

Until his mortgage payment bill comes in the mail and realizes he's still unemployed.

I want to see the response tomorrow. If it's more of the same as today then I'll start to worry.

Brutal start, I never really know what to make of the first game, is it like the NFL where they're trying to shake the rust off? 1 can only hope since It just looks like the Devils are faster in all aspects.

Will HC Lindy Ruff be the difference for us being a playoff team and beyond? Is our goaltending problem solved now? Is losing Skinner more of a benefit than a loss? Do we have enough firepower on offense? Is our defensive woes behind us? Is Dahlin the right captain for this ship? All answers to these questions start today!!!! Very excited for hockey once again.

I used to think Tuch should 100%be the captain but it was leaning towards Dahlin after the season ended. He was talking and saying things a captain would say. He’s been 1 of our best players for the past 3-4 seasons and plays the game correctly so it was a great choice and congrats to him. Samuelsson is interesting to me because it tells me the organization sees him in a different light. I always said watching him “man if he’d just use his size” we could have a Chara on our hands or Chara-light at least. I think Ruff will try and bring that out in him, if he can stay healthy he can be a force imo.

Solid game, that 4th line is going to be an asset for us if we can get into the playoffs. Like I've been saying for awhile, I never understand the love for Peyton Krebs, only 4 players had 0 points, 2 of them were defensemen and Krebs was amongst them, imo he didn't look like he belonged.

I hope he is but the realist in me says top 25-30 is more likely. I hope I’m wrong though it would be awesome to see!

Seems a bit drawn out. Give Dahlin the C, Tuch, Thompson, Cozens the A and let’s be done with it.

I wish him well but for some reason thought he retired awhile ago.

This organization is so predictable.

This leadership thing is getting out of control. Rasmus Dahlin has been our starting Dman since 2018. Muel/Joker and Byram have all been doing this for awhile and Byram won a Stanley Cup. We don’t need more leadership we need the players we do have to play the way we know and have seen they can. Giordano adds nothing but an old ass body to this team who just got a lot faster.

Let’s just hope Ruff really can be the difference so we don’t have to go through this ***** again next year as it’s getting very tiresome for all. If Ruff is the difference we should be getting the very best of our top players, much better power play, we got tougher/faster now these players need to seize the opportunity. Man let’s all hope!

Yeah this is how I feel about it also which sucks because he's the exact player I want the Sabres to go after just the age at 34+ to go along with the 7M its like the Skinner deal all over again. But if they said they'd retain half his salary (very unlikely) then I'd be a player.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about this, he's a tough player to play against but he has so much tread on his tires.Would he even be ok playing at LW?
