  1. The way Granato and Adams spoke about him like he was Wayne Gretzky it’s really not surprising at all.
  2. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-salary-cap-will-rise-to-88-million-in-2024-25 Do the Sabres do anything different with this news?
  3. Now that I’m streaming games I feel like our broadcast crew could be so much worse. I could not listen to the broadcasters in Boston (not just because Boston) they made me actually cringe several times and the 1 older guy sounded like he couldn’t care less a game was being played in front of his eyes.
  4. I agree with Tuch, that would be my least favorite move. I also disagree on Cozens, the way he played last season does not scream 1st line center imo. Of course he can bounce back but I’m not sure I’m rewarding him just yet. Id prefer JJP, Thompson Quinn on line 1 with Benson, Cozens, Tuch on line 2 but that’s just me. I wouldn’t hate it though if the lines were what you listed this would just be my preference.
  5. Skinner and Tuch are not top liners on any of these playoff teams so something needs to change here imo. There are a few scenarios you could do here and the first would be buyout Skinner as he's making way too much for what he does and brings to this team but I'm not sure with what's going on with the Pegula's if that a realistic option right now but it could really help us in the long run plus it would free up the money to sign a top tier winger if we brought 1 over in a trade. The next would be to trade Tuch and pick 11 for a top winger prospect, this 1 I wouldn't love so much and as annoyed as I was with his play last year I still feel we need a presence like him just not on the top line. My 3rd option would be to deal J.J. Peterka and pick 11 for a top tier winger. This could come back to bite us if he turns into a solid top 6 player but there is still no telling if thats true and the guy we're trading for his contract is probably much higher which is another thing you have to take into consideration moving forward.
  6. Trade 11, Rosen and Jokijarju for the best top line winger we can get in here. IMO neither Skinner or Tuch should be 1st line players.
  7. It's the first time in a long time where I don't hate 1 or both of the teams vying for the Stanley Cup. I would be fine with whoever wins this 1 , seeing McDavid/Draisatal raise the cup would be sweet and so would the 42 ex sabres on the Panthers. Either way I just hope it's a fun series full of hits, crazy plays and all the top players bring their A games, I'll just sit back and enjoy it!
  8. He's 3rd in all of the AHL? Oh under 21 players got it. That’s great for us then since we can use that as a selling point.
  9. I think Cirelli is a pipe dream imo. Not sure why Tampa would want to trade him and especially to someone within the division. I feel Adams will just promote from within at 3C, Kulich or Krebs most likely. I don’t see where Rosen fits on this team and still hasn’t really translated in the AHL as an ascending player. I’d like to see him dealt but I have no confidence in Adams to trade any prospects at this point until he shows otherwise.
  10. But the Stephenson now is who we need on this roster, I dont want to wait around for Krebs to possibly be Stephenson in 2-3 years time down the road because there's a good possibility he never will be also. I doubt a team is signing him at 5 years 5.1M, maybe they will I truly suck at NHL projections but that seems high.
  11. I think getting Chandler Stephenson to me would be the ideal 3rd line C for us, he offers everything that Krebs doesn't... Skill, toughness, grit, 52.6% on faceoffs. It's absolutely baffling to me what people see in Peyton Krebs at this point. He doesn't score, he doesn't fight, he has some toughness but is more or less just a guy who talks trash every now and again, only has 46.3% faceoff wins (Has over 400 less faceoff attempts as Stephenson and still not better at it). Stephenson is making 2.75M, bump it up to 3.75M per year for a 2 year deal? A nice million increase might entice him.
  12. My bad I misunderstood, yeah for that role I’d love it but highly doubt he’d come over to us when he has a pretty solid gig in Florida.
  13. Whoever it is they would need to not be pissing in their depends. Dude is 75 years old, he’s a sr advisor, making him the president is quite a role.
  14. Let's have all ex Sabres running this for us... What could go wrong?
  15. I get what you mean now. I would bail on both Muel and Clifton for Pesce but thats me, get some nice young bottom pair dmen.
  16. No way is he commanding 8M, dude was making 4.03M and has an offensive output of 13 pts, 6.5M tops imo. Also I'd be fine dealing Clifton or Muel, neither would be as impactful as Pesce again imo.
  17. I'd have Pegula do a full court press and fly that Jet for RHD Brett Pesce, I would deal Jokiharju with other pieces for a forward. Now you have: Line 1- LHD Owen Power RHD Rasmus Dahlin Line 2- LHD Bowen Byram RHD Brett Pesce Line 3- LHD Mattias Samuelsson RHD Connor Clifton Pretty solid defensive core with some ruggedness, skill etc.
  18. I don't think the Oilers have the goaltending to win the cup although I'd like to see mcDavid hoist the cup, he's looking a little rough these days.
  19. Iginla would be the only prospect i want in this draft class. His dad was 1 of my favorite players of all time and to see him come to our games to watch him would be amazing. The player is not necessarily like his father in every way but his brand of hockey is exactly what we're looking for.
  20. Let’s all be honest, no top names are coming here to a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in 13 seasons. Stamps is wanting to win cups not be excited to finally make a playoff appearance. I’m not even being negative I just believe that’s the reality of the situation. We could however find some decent vet players who are excellent role players.
  21. It's embarrassing that Kyle Okposo was our captain.
