I wish him well but for some reason thought he retired awhile ago.

UFA Defenseman Mark Giordano Talking to Sabres per His Agent
GoPuckYourself replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
This leadership thing is getting out of control. Rasmus Dahlin has been our starting Dman since 2018. Muel/Joker and Byram have all been doing this for awhile and Byram won a Stanley Cup. We don’t need more leadership we need the players we do have to play the way we know and have seen they can. Giordano adds nothing but an old ass body to this team who just got a lot faster. -
Let’s just hope Ruff really can be the difference so we don’t have to go through this ***** again next year as it’s getting very tiresome for all. If Ruff is the difference we should be getting the very best of our top players, much better power play, we got tougher/faster now these players need to seize the opportunity. Man let’s all hope!

There are a bunch of sites that state the same but I’m not sure how reliable they are, seem like a bunch of Hockeybuzz type of sites imo https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/calgary-flames/latest-news/calgary-flames-open-for-trade-discussions-report

Nazem Kadri -- Should the Sabres Pursue Him?
GoPuckYourself replied to Sabres73's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah this is how I feel about it also which sucks because he's the exact player I want the Sabres to go after just the age at 34+ to go along with the 7M its like the Skinner deal all over again. But if they said they'd retain half his salary (very unlikely) then I'd be a player. -

I'm not sure how I'd feel about this, he's a tough player to play against but he has so much tread on his tires.Would he even be ok playing at LW? -
Six players who could make or break the Sabres season

I hope so because he was really looking like a force before this past season. -

Then I retract that statement I made. I should have researched that a bit more but I thought for sure thats how it went down, I appreciate the info. -

Maybe I stated it wrong, he was sent down to the AHL and nobody claimed him offf waivers is what I meant to say my bad. -

I could not check a single box and that's not me being dramatic or hating on the team. Quinn has been solid but 65 points is a huge leap. Dylan Cozens was not only struggling last season, he looked completely defeated so to say he'll come back as a 65 pt 2 way forward is really tough for me. Owen Power looks like he has a decent offensive game in his future but unless he grows a pair I don't think he'll ever be a solid 2 way defender imo. Mattias Samuelsson has the toolkit to be a shutdown defensemen but can this guy make it through a season injury free? The jury is still out. UPL was excellent for half a season in a contract year, before this he was put on waivers and nobody wanted or believed in him accept a select few on here apparently, the question is will he still be hungry after getting paid or was he just a flash in the pan? I think the only 1 I can maybe get behind with certainty is Tage being a point per game player but if he has no help I doubt it comes to fruition. This is alot to expect Ruff to get the best out of all these players but I'm pretty sure Ruff believes he can or he wouldn't want to embarrass himself coming back to Buffalo otherwise, This is going to be a very interesting season for sure. -
I just saw this thread now, I've been an avid collector since the 80's. I still remember chasing the 1986 donruss Jose Canseco Rated Rookie, such an iconic card. I now have 1 graded. I have a bunch of hockey mostly graded, Cozens, Ullmark (sold), Rinehart (sold), Eichel (sold), Tuch FWA, Devon levi, Jack Quinn, JJ peterka, looking to get thompson. Also have a PSA 4 Gilbert perault RC and looking to get the rest of the French Connection.

Johnny Gaudreau and Brother Matthew Killed by Drunk Driver
GoPuckYourself replied to aristocrat's topic in The Aud Club
Terrible news, he always seemed like a good dude also. Disgusting also if the driver was impaired! -
Like last season, I forgot all about him.
-
That’s a fair assessment, he definitely needs to show more this season.
-
I'm just curious why do you think it's a roundabout way? We had Midlestadt on the roster but they didn't want to pay him, Byram is definitely an upgrade although not the righty I was hoping for. Adams has said he doesn't really care about the handedness??? If that how you say it. I'm not feeling Jokiharju as a "puck mover" but that's just me.

Judging the off-season: turning over the bottom six
GoPuckYourself replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
besides McLeod, Benson and Zucker there is also Greenway who has been in the top 6 when needed before. -
Yeah it doesn't mean everything but it's definitely helpful to have guys who have been there, done that at least imo.

Judging the off-season: the coaching change
GoPuckYourself replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I voted "change was needed and Lindy is an upgrade, but I would have preferred someone else", I really wanted Craig Berube, I think he was the better fit imo. I think Ruff will be great for bringing fans into the building, everyone knows he will be on these players and doesn't want to let the fans down but what if he does? This could get real ugly for him. I really hope he can hold up that Stanley cup before he retires which is another reason I wasn't a fan of thw Ruff hire, he'll be retiring very shortly. -
I was torn what to comment on here since I know Skinner needed to go but only with a plan in place, addition by subtraction is fine defensively but we have nobody on the roster now who will be able to replace those points. To me this is the Stefon Diggs move, trading a player with absolutely no plan in place other than 1 is a headache and the other is terrible defensively both could have waited a year and it would have made more sense than creating a gant hole on the rosters imo.

Judging the off-season: turning over the bottom six
GoPuckYourself replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
100% loved what they did with the bottom 6 and I've been begging for it since I can remember. Now were on par imo with most teams bottom pairing players who make it to the playoffs each season. I even don't have a single problem with the Beck Malenstyn draft day trade for a 2nd, it was exactly what we needed to do and liked all the players they brought in to help this team get tougher, faster and more balanced imo. -
I thought Adams did quite well on both trades, we got our puck moving defensemen and our 3rd line center, added speed and playoff/Stanley Cup experience with both players which is a huge plus.
-
I went with good but incomplete... I love what we did to the 3rd and 4th lines but if we're now relying on Zucker to replace Skinner then it ruins everything they just did. I thought for certain when they bought out Skinners contract that they had a solid plan in place. It turns out it was just to save money since we're once agai9n several million under the cap saving it for a Pegula Yacht. To think all this team needs is a swift kick in the ass from Ruff and some bottom 6 players just seems like more reasons why we haven't made playoffs in 13 years imo.
