In the video you posted, there are at least 8 MSU players surrounding the 1st Michigan player or can't you count. Then why accuse someone without any evidence just because you don't like a word choice. Pretty sad.

you think a video of a guy swinging a helmet at a Michigan player is hilarious? Did you read the article? Here is better view. PS the player swinging the helmet is named Khary Crump and he is one of the 4 players Mel Tucker suspended. You may think this is hilarious, I don't.

This isn't just boys being boys. 10 on 1 is a gang type assault. I have no idea what color the players were, except the DB for Michigan who is black, and I don't care. Using helmets as weapons, knocking a guy down in the tunnel and then a group of guys starts kicking him on the ground. How else would you describe the event? I think thugs is the appropriate word for a bunch of guys attacking beating a single guy. No you got it right. One Michigan player was assaulted by a group of MSU players swinging helmets as weapons and the second Michigan player was knocked to the group and then a group of MSU players started kicking and punching him on the ground. Watch the videos. It's disgusting.

Quinn has picked it up after sitting for 2 game with 2 pts in his last 3 games and is averaging about 13 minutes since returning to the lineup. Power, given our key D injuries, is playing a ton of minutes. He is contributing some on offense, but we really need to him to play solid D right now. Power has the advantage because he is going to play 20+ minutes most nights. For all three, I think we are already seeing them mature with each passing game. Quinn looks like a different player since his benching. I'm looking forward to seeing how they progress, but my heart tells me Quinn might end up edging out Power for the award by year end.

I had this happen to me when when playing in a tournament in Canada during high school. (Admittedly I started it). I guess it could be worse, it could be a Michigan/Michigan St after the game tunnel gang assault.

Do you think he'd have won a Cup here if he stayed? Would we have even made the playoffs? So yes he won a Cup, but I think we are closer to that goal today then at any time he was here. Amazingly this is the last year of ROR's contract he signed with us before the 2016-17 season. It was structured correctly. His income this year is 6 mill and that is about his value in the market right now I would guess (cap hit still 7.5). His peek season was 2018-19 with 77 pts in 82 pages. (He also had 54 in 56 in 2020-21). It looks to be that Tage has long-term pt a game potential. I was worried about a regression, but after last night he is back to a 15.4 shooting % and his overall game actually is taking another step, despite some early season games bad puck luck. Only truly elite players can do what he did last night.

I think these are the two areas I think McBeane needs to address.

6 and 12 are lucky tonight. As I mentioned earlier the Sabres are now +12 for the season. However there are more “6” “12” from tonight’s game. The win was the Sabres’ 6th win (over 6 different teams) for 12 points. TNT’s 6 point night, gives him 6g 6a for 12 pts. Dahlin’s goal was also his 6th of the season, 1 each in 6 different games. His assist was his 6th of the season. He is tied with TNT for the team leading in goals 6, assists with 6 and 12 points. Mitts, Skinner (2), KO (2) assists tonight giving them each 6 assists for the season tying Dahlin and Thompson for the team lead. DC’s goal for his 6th point of the season. FYI; 6 x 12 =72 or TnT.

I can’t remember ever seeing a goaltender take a penalty to stop an opponent from buzzing around the net. I also don’t remember seeing a goaltender huff and puff like he had just run a marathon.

Well that was fun. So many treats, but poor Power, how many bad bounces is he going to get. What an amazing game by Thompson. His last goal maybe the goal of the year. Dear NHL journalists, just because Stevie Y signs 40 free agents, it doesn’t mean his team will be automatically better than a young developing team.

I’m not a fan of Leslie Frazier. I don’t understand why he refuses to bring in a 3rd linebacker against running teams. GB had 200 yards rushing. That’s unacceptable. Had we been playing a real team that might have cost us the win. I understand his scheme and against passing first teams it works great, but against running teams he needs to adjust and doesn’t.

They are playing like they fell asleep in the second half. Focus boys.

This is a realization that we need to carry 8 D instead of 14 forwards. Makes sense considering our injury situation. Could it imply a D help is on the way?

Apparently. One other note. DG is starting Mitts nearly 60% of the time in the defensive zone. Skinner, Tnt, VO, Quinn and Krebs are the only Sabres forwards over 50% in Ozone starts. That stat implies to me that we are spending way to much time in our own zone.

In the draft I think they should use at least 2 of our top 4 picks (we have a 1st and 3 2nds) next year on D. We also need to add depth in the organization. Much will depend on whether Johnson signs and whether Novikov can get out of Russia and come over to play for the Amerks as Kisakov did this year. I would like to see them sign a college kid or two. I honestly think we should add another NHL level D even if Jokiharju and Bush return soon. I want competition for Joki and Bryson to prove they deserve their spots and we just don't have it right now.
